Fine one again!👍🏼
I agree with you about Ragini...I wrote in other thread...' Ragini has always been a powerhouse actress. In fact, I was mildly surprised seeing her in role of Dukhba , a very minor character in original. She would fit a far more powerful role of Guniyal ( original). But looks like, SBL has toned down Guniyal and winched up Dukhba...'.
So yes I was expecting her in something alike- care taker of Saras ( director cleverly hid till last scene) , though there was a hint...She spoke earlier, ' they ditch even a woman who took care of their son.' ( means herself?). Here again, she might be used to flare violently against Guman, ending up inadvertently helping her destructive agenda...something, Guniyal might not be capable of, as per her original etching. So yes, SLB is cleverly orchestrating certain changes in adaption, I guess towards a certain goal (have a vague idea, let us see...)

Thanks yaar...but If i can write half as good as you,...I will be happy...I saw your last post and just could only post like..but awesome writer you are...👏
About Ragini...I guess it is as you said...SLB and the director definitely have something else in their mind for DB...Guni is not yet that strong a character..although I kind of like how she doesnot molly coddle Kumud like the others and does show her mirror from time to time!
That scene...Parellals of past and present were excellently shot...you could make out that it would be her who had saved Saras, the moment she stepped out of the house to save him..but still the way it was executed was excellent..a.nd I loved how she was slightly taken aback when Saras hugged her..totally at loss of his senses..but she hugs him back...and the way she prays the soul of Saraswati ...to take care of Saras...and she also realizes that she was wrong...Saras had not forgotten his mother...the way she scolded Kumud that she had revived the scars that were never healed!!
DB might have stepped in after Saraswati died and tried to protect the family from Guman but LN might have brushed her off or insulted her...let us see how it unfolds..for now...I am waiting for Guman...more than yesterday..especially since Saras has now revived his older wounds...

It was a happy and heartbreaking episode...Gautam actually is shining as Saras...his love, his calmness, his maturity, his selflessness...his intensity his pain...everything so clearly reflected in his eyes, that you fall for him even before you know what is happening!
Jerry is a bit mad mouse..she doesnot realize that she has led her Tom in the cat trap where he is likely to drown...
Saras is smart..but yet highly emotional..and so so vulnerable that without a thought he went into the pond and became so wrapped up in his old ghosts that he forgot to resurface in the present...Thank Gd for Dukhba...or Iw ould have killed Kumud😡😆

Heya Srushti, you're writing for this show? Nice to see you here :-)

I liked today's epi as well...It was Gautam's portrayal of Saras that first drew me to watching this show from the promos and today I think he got his best scenes so far in terms of variety as you aptly pointed out...from the initial playful moments with Kumud to the emotional pond scene and the last bit with Dukhbaa...he got to show quite a lot of range today and did very well.

Especially the haunted look in his eyes in the pond scene...and the execution of the pond scene overall actually...with the back and forth b/w past and present...I really liked how that was shown...the direction seems to have improved from the initial weeks or maybe the story has picked up a bit anyways so I'm finding it better.

I do think that Saras-Kumud running scenes are overdone...kitna bhaagte hain yeh log yaar...half epi goes in that only.

The title song has grown on me too...it was well used in the face to face Saras-Kumud scene today...is Kumud supposed to be this childish in the original story too or is it just SLB'S fascination with childish arrogant heroines that makes her so? Cuz I get heavy Paro/Nandini deja vu watching her.

Anyways, I'm intrigued to see Saras ki backstory regarding his mother and his bonding with the Desais.

Oh please don't be humble. You are so good in articulating all.
But believe me, in original, Gunsundari is so well written as per my vague recollection, I almost half expect SLB to embark on Young VC- Guniyal story, as the script goes in flash-back mode. In fact, Dukhba was not prominent there I suppose. But do you think her reference to Saraswati today was concurring present? I felt it was some past memory, something like a day or an hour before suicide, after some terrible news was broken to them...but in hindsight, your take appears more fitting..
As for Spoilt Kumud, I for one, would sooner see some spirit than the OTT sell effacement that is going on in name of virtues elsewhere. Besides, let us grant her benefit of 'unusualness-as-rendered by her script writer' for the moment... For in original, she indeed had ability of 'self effacing virtue'! 😆

Nice to see you here :-) Hey Anu...I keep forgetting you changed your username (YA I know it is a long back thing...but still am so used to 'nureat'😊) ya I am on this show from Day 1...Govardhanram Tripathi's ghost told me to be here or else he will have my hide😆I liked today's epi as well...It was Gautam's portrayal of Saras that first drew me to watching this show from the promos and today I think he got his best scenes so far in terms of variety as you aptly pointed out...from the initial playful moments with Kumud to the emotional pond scene and the last bit with Dukhbaa...he got to show quite a lot of range today and did very well. I tell you to be frank...I did not like this choice of SLB in the beginning..I thought he was all about good looks...but then Gautam proved me wrong and HOW!!! Today he was at his best...the open flirting..the innocent curiousity, the teaser,,,the challenger to the man who has just seen death all over...lost his mother all over...lost his world all over...and what a traumatic memory...to say goodbye to your mother without even knowing what was your fault...Ironic though, Saraswati said that she would come back...may be it is that belief to which Saras still clings to...that she will come back..it was that which made him jump...so subtle was that effect when he was still clinging to the kite, which he illusioned as his mother's saree when he was drowning...as if that was the sole anchore that would draw him out, just as it had lured him in...

Especially the haunted look in his eyes in the pond scene...and the execution of the pond scene overall actually...with the back and forth b/w past and present...I really liked how that was shown...the direction seems to have improved from the initial weeks or maybe the story has picked up a bit anyways so I'm finding it better. the direction has improved and the best part is that they are building characters..each character is coming out stronger...today we saw Dukhba coming out...not only as an unreasonably strict matron but a woman who has had her heart ripped because she had loved selflessly...who had seen people change for the worse and wanted to protect her family from again getting hurt!! Amazing scene...I still cant get over the look Saras gives her..as he sees her and recognizes her as the same woman who had carried her in his arms...and he knew that she would understand why he did what he did...why he had to be dragged out of the shallow waters...the utter look of hopelessness he gives her...broke my heart1!

I do think that Saras-Kumud running scenes are overdone...kitna bhaagte hain yeh log yaar...half epi goes in that only. yes...they were overdone..but that I guess is SLB and his penchant of running woman and beautiful sets!! Remember that HDDCS scene where Ajay Drags Aish half way through the house along with the curtains and the table cloths and all the linen in the house???😆

Title song is perfect..absolutely perfect for Saras...and yes..after a long time a title on the Male lead does create a good impression😆 Kumud was beautiful and proud...the childish touch seems to be SLB and his penchant for such characters...may be..I may be wrong too..
Anyways, I'm intrigued to see Saras ki backstory regarding his mother and his bonding with the Desais. oh this one is going to be interesting..as I said earlier also...that what will Saras do once Guman is here..especially since the events of his past have just been renewed and relived by him?? and what when Guman insults the Desais and especially Kumud when she gives her the ghoonghroo? will he sulk or will he stand besides her?? Let us see😊

I checked out the first week and wasn't too impressed frankly as I told Piu in the Gulaal forum too...it got better slightly second week onwards...waise bhi first week, the supposed grandeur wasn't living up to it's name especially when I've seen magnificence like that of Gulaal...even now this cast can't measure up to the iconic Gulaal cast.

I tell you to be frank...I did not like this choice of SLB in the beginning..I thought he was all about good looks...but then Gautam proved me wrong and HOW!!! LOL really? I haven't seen much of Gautam's previous work but I was impressed by the web preview where he corrects his friend and tells him that no one can seperate his mother's name from his...he portrayed that depth and fire in Saras's character well there...frankly it's is JW who puts me off the show for her Kumud is not that appealing to me...not sure if she's going to prove me wrong...but I don't think she has that enchanting quality in her that this character is supposed to have.

. yes...they were overdone..but that I guess is SLB and his penchant of running woman and beautiful sets!! Remember that HDDCS scene where Ajay Drags Aish half way through the house along with the curtains and the table cloths and all the linen in the house???😆 LOL I know SLB has a penchant for it but then he's a better director naa...his heroines run so much more gracefully even if melodramatically...Ash toh Ash hai...JW can't be that...nowhere near infact...and the direction obviously is not SLB level ki...although today's running scene was slightly better directed than some previous ones in the last two weeks.

this one is going to be interesting..as I said earlier also...that what will Saras do once Guman is here..especially since the events of his past have just been renewed and relived by him?? and what when Guman insults the Desais and especially Kumud when she gives her the ghoonghroo? will he sulk or will he stand besides her?? I wish they'd cast a better actress for Ghuman...comes across too plastic and not so threatening as a vamp.

oye I am not being humble..and I know a excellent writer when I see one...and I am seeing you right now🤓😆
Govardhanram had explored and given a back story of each character..I think even Guniyal's maternal house was given equal prominence...but in here I dont know hw much would SLB stick to that...and it would not be much practical also..showing young Guni might just lose the viewership😆
About Saraswati...I read somewhere the original plot did not have Saras trying to fit his name as per his mother's...In fact his mother's name was Chandralaxmi...the name and his insistence of having the name of his mother in his name originates from SLB's own belief of having his mother's name in his...Sanjay LEELA Bhansali...And I actually like that touch..and probably he does see himself in Saras...
And therefore his portrayal of Kumud also must be his idea of Saras' Kumud...and so then when I think like that...I grant him the creative's benefit (So grand and indulgent I am na😆)..because I really dont want Kumud to be the one who sits and sacrifices...I had actually skipped the novels after started reading them..because I had heard the end and the sacrifices she makes..😆So hail SLB for creating the women of new era and fight for Saras...then have her renounce the world and Kusum endng up with her to be jijaji🤢😆
