When Kumud woke up she got upset that Saras found her fallen asleep while she was fanning him and told "Tell my father that you reject me and get lost in morning" to just show to him she does not care for him.
Saras woke up and when Kumud also woke told her "Why you stop fanning, my sleep broke" and that "He wants to leave her house now only" although he never meant it.
So both trying to hide their feelings towards each other and talking rudely. But both care for each other feelings hence Kumud ran to search for him and SC returned from temple early as he was worried Kumud family waiting for him.
What i do not understand is why badima and another old lady think SC is modern and no sanskaar. He is more well behaved than majority rich young men. Which young man today will love his mom so much after so many years of her death or go to temple and do meditation? And i am sure SC will say yes to marry to obey his father's words too. I mean in todays self centered world who cares for others feeling like SC? Still those kumud family think he is bad.
