have an interesting tidbit to share with you regarding the names of the characters in kumuds house.my mom who has read two volumes of the original story tells me that every character is named for their gun or quality or personality trait.therefore dukhba is called so because she is shown to be the pessimistic type.the fellow with the harmonium is called gaanchatur because he loves to sing, and so on.the names are reflective of their personalities.😊
