Anjali is going old addresses, and is searching for her Uncle Mohan's address, and sees the photographs in Naina's room and sees the one with her taken when she was 8 years old with her father, and she cries, and regrets the long years she kept her apart, without showing her any affection. She tells what she told her father, when he brought her home as a baby, "Why did not not bury her?" but he said, "For my fault, why should I punish, this innocent child, who has not done any fault?" She was young and newly married. It was this hurt which kept them from having their own children, and if she had known it then, she would have had many in her house, and with lot of fun and frolic, and she cries on the shoulder of Naina and asks her forgiveness, but Naina is over generous, and soothes her guilt feelings.

Her father's work ring loudly in Naina's ears, and she thinks, what advice she gave Akruti, was the same Anjali asked him to do, but he was a noble soul. Naina sees the irony in her attitude.
Naina gets affected by the thought that her father decided to preserve her life, not to punish her, for a fault he did. she now realizes that the advice she gave Akruti was wrong, and she goes to her, and tells her what is on her mind. Akruti feels nervous, but Naina gives her courage, that she will help her in bringing up this child, even it has to be alone. But she tells her that they have to tell Daksh and she knows ther family will understand, as they all love her, and even if initially, it may shock them, soon , they will come round and understand that it is better to give a chance, and snatch it away from another, for their own selfish interests.
The family downstairs, is all gathered, in preparations for the marriage that is going to take place soon in the house, Outside, a big car stops,and a gentleman comes out with his driver and assistants, carrying loads of gifts to those inside the Patwardan house, and the gentleman rings the bell. Mr. Vidhyadar Patwardan goes to open the door, and is surprised to see the lawyer, and he greets, Mr. Joshi and welcomes him in. They ask him to take a seat, and he does not waste his time, but goes straight to the subject, to relieve them of the suspense. He tells them that he has brought a proposal for Daksh, and would like them to receive his daughter Sonakshi, as their daughter in law. Vibha is all excited, and praises the girl. All are brimming with joy, except for Daksh. Mr. Joshi, leaves, with the hope that their answer will be positive. When he leaves, before they can ask him, Daksh tells them, that he will not marry Sonakshi. He walks away to his room.
Sanket is searching for a shirt, and Rohini is busy with her make up at the dressing table. He asks her if she has seen his blue shirt, and she tells him, that she has kept it aside, to give it to the office peon. He is annoyed, but Rohini wants him, to climb in the social ladder, as they will soon have to rub shoulders with a rich family, whose daughter is going to become her sister in law. Sanket tells her to forget day dreaming, as he knows his brother, he will never change his mind. She has other ideas, She tells him, that Naina will change his mind. He refused to marry her sister, on her telling him not to. Now he will marry, when she will ask him to. In the kitchen, Ayee sees Naina preparing coffee, and comes to know she has made it for Daksh, and she goes and does some play acting, of a court scene, and the thrust of her argument forces him, to accept Sonakshi, for the happiness of the whole family. That is not enough for Daksh. Then she tells him, if he wants her to be happy. He says, he wants her always happy, as she is his best friend. then she bargains for a gift, and that is to marry Sonakshi, for the happiness of the family. Daksh comes down, and shocks them by accepting to marry Sonakshi, and Rohini gives a side glance at her husband, that she has won.
Sonakshi is busy, with engagement party preparations. She calls Daksh, but in spite of her high spirits, Daksh can not be swayed. He recalls how she made him smile, but he also recalls, how Naina for the first time did the same to him in the train. He is confused. Eventually, Sonakshi calls her mother, and asks her when she will be coming. We see a small flash, of his lady, going round to ask where the Bardhwaj villa is and is directed to the place, then we see her back in the house, and the daughter says to her, as to what took her so much time to come back. The mother sees all preparations going on in the house, and her husband dressed in a golden kurta, is moving around giving orders, and faces his wife. She asks him, and he is a bit distant, and tells her that he is getting their daughter married, and she asks with whom, and the daughter tells her that his name is Daksh Patwardan. The father had told her not to mention that she met him on the way to Darjeeling, but she does not know why, and the subject blurts out of her, and she says to her mother, that he met him in the bus to Darjeeling, and a bell rings in the mother's head, as she gives her a strange look, of a memory buried for a long time.
Akruti again meets Naina and tells her not to tell Daksh. She does not want Daksh to marry Sonakshi, as he loves Naina, so she goes to him, and protests with him, and as they argue, and he admits that he is doing it only to make her happy, and Anjali hears them and comes in and asks Daksh, why he has not told Naina. He says that she loves Abhi. Anjali, says, now she knows what she had realized for herself from the start was true. It is he who loves Naina. - Abhi may love her, but it is he, Daksh who is the only one, who can make her happy for her whole life. She is unable to change his mind, and leaves them.
Sonakshi's mother has gone to the shop where they sell photo frames. She too is searching for some frames for her work. As she sees around she sees a picture, which is being packed. The newspaper has just come out, and her eyes fall on the picture, and she exclaims, "Diwakar !" She asks whose pincture this is, and then she gets a call, and turns round to attend it, and then she hears a girl saying, "Is my father's pircture frame ready?" He says, "Yes Madam", and hands over Diwakar's picture to her. By the time the lady can have a good look at the girl, she has already left the place. The woman rushes out, and finds a girl dressed up like Naina, and stops her and asks, :Where you the girl, who came to the photo shop, to take your father's picture". She is the wrong girt, and she replies, "No, Madam." We have already guessed, her name is Supriya Joshi, the mother of both Naina and Sonakshi.
