Just to clarify, they are not going on a vacation; it's just a day-long trip for their pre-wedding photo shoot. I don't know if it is common in other parts of the world, but here in the US, couples usually do a photo shoot once they are engaged to announce their engagement; it is sometimes also referred to as a pre-wedding photo shoot. Since they are going all out in planning an extravagant wedding, I figured Rachna and Kabir should enjoy this "ritual" too. 😊

Gauri pooja is usually done just a few days before the wedding (obviously I took some creative liberties here by showing that Rachna performed it two weeks before the wedding), but it is essentially just for the bride to pray for a successful marriage and seek the blessings of Parvati to be a good wife. In Maharashtra, Gauri pujan is a festival celebrated by married woman similarly to Ganesh Chaturthi. They will bring home an idol of Parvati and perform the pooja for a few days, after which they do the gauri visarjan (similar to ganesh visarjan).
