TAM releases data for 10 weeks; Hindi GECs witness close fight

While the entire data for 10 weeks is being analysed and will be available soon, we are presenting the last week's (Week 50) data for the Hindi GECs

BestMediaInfo Bureau | Delhi | December 24, 2012

TAM Media Research has released the data from Week 41 to Week 50 for all the genres except 'News Channels'. In the wake of the phase-wise DAS implementation across India, the release of TAM TV viewing data was deferred for All-India market for a period of nine weeks starting Week 41 (October 7, 2012, Sunday) and ending Week 49 (December 8, 2012). This deferred data was to be released on December 19, 2012 along with data for Week 50 (December 9-15, 2012) but due to reservations of News Channels, the data was released today.

It's fake

It's just been two days since the TV industry woke up to a whole new buzz of ratings as TAM (which had earlier postponed the ratings which had to be released on 19 December) released its ratings (for weeks 41 to 50) on 24 December (2012). Further, TAM had announced that the date for Week 51 and 52 will be released on 27 December and 3 January 2013 respectively.

However, a sudden curiosity and excitement was created this morning (26 December) when many in the industry (including us) hit upon a set of ratings that had data of Week 51. A part of the data that we got is as follows:
Zee tv
Afsar Bitiya 1.7
Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke 4.0
Rab Se Sohna Isshq 1.8
Hitler Didi 1.5
Pavitra Rishta 4.0
Qubool Hai 3.0
Mrs Kaushik 1.7
Punar Vivah 1.6
Phir Subah Hogi 1.0
SRGMP 1.2
Fear Files 1.9
Ramayan 0.6

Well, if you are excited on reading this piece of ratings, then here is a big shocker coming your way!!

A source from the industry told us that, 'The ratings that have come out today are completely fake. Many in the industry have got this rating, and it's been a talk of the town now. However, the official release from TAM will come only tomorrow. Wonder who sent out these ratings, but this is completely fake.'

Tellychakkar.com also managed to have a word with the TAM authorities who stated that they would be officially releasing the data for Week 51 on 27 December.

We also hear that the entire unit of Zee TV's Sapne Suhaane Ladakpan Ke started to rejoice after getting to know that their show has managed to hit a 4.0 TVR.

Talking about it, Roopal Tyagi, the protagonist of the show said, "Yes, we did get the ratings today that said Sapne Suhane was the #1 on Zee TV. However, we later got to know from the channel that these ratings are fake. The official ratings will come tomorrow."

Incidentally, whoever decided to play a prank on the industry people forgot to put up the ratings for the shows on Colors (which actually is the #1 channel as per the data released in Week 50).

For all those who did believe in these ratings, take your time to understand the fact and take a chill pill…

aww that sucks that the TRPs were fake! but it kinda makes sense since PV is the number 2 show on India forums, but it had low TRPs. but hopefully when the real ones come out, SSLK will still get a good amount. I think the show has a really fresh concept and I would like to see it stay around for awhile. 😊

@ Saraella and other SSLKians: Only the TRPs for week 51 were fake.

The TRPs for week 41-50 are REAL and SSLK was indeed among the top 10 shows.

Again, please note that only the TRPs for week 51 were fake.
