So here is the interview::

2 women

Within weeks of going on air, STAR Plus's new primetime offering Sapna Baabul Ka Bidaai is climbing the popularity ratings, thanks in no small measure to the daily soap's two leading ladies Parul Chauhan and Sara Khan. They play Ragini and Sadhana, two sisters with conflicting fortunes, in this family tearjerker. A t2 chat…

Story so far…

Parul: The serial focuses on a middle-class family. I play Ragini, a simple down-to-earth girl who is ostracised by society for being dark skinned. She is very close to her cousin sister Sadhana who happens to be very good looking. However, this does not mar the loving relationship that the two sisters share.

Sara: I play Sadhana who is motherless and has been brought up by her mama and mami (played by Alok Nath and Vibha Chibber of Chak De! India fame). Sara is a happy-go-lucky girl and believes in taking each day as it comes. She dotes on her sister Ragini.

Atmosphere on sets…

Parul: I am made to feel extremely comfortable on the sets. Although I have acted in serials like Kayamath (STAR Plus) and Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki (Sahara One), the atmosphere on the Bidaai sets gets the best out of me. Everyone is chilled out, all the actors help each other out. It's like one big family.

Sara: Everyone is very friendly on the sets. Not once have we been made to feel that we share the same screen space with the likes of Alok Nathji and Vibhaji. Every possible help is extended to a newcomer like me.

Audience reaction…

Parul: Bidaai has been very well received by the audience. I have got a lot of appreciation for my role. People have started recognising me on the streets saying, "Dekho dekho, yeh to Ragini hai." It feels very good. Bidaai's TRP ratings have also been commendable.

Sara: The adulation is tremendous. People are coming up to me to tell me how much they like me as Sadhana. Most, in particular, are all praise for my voice and my manner of speaking.

Way ahead…

Parul: All my hopes are pinned on Bidaai. The serial is far removed from the regular saas bahu fare. That should continue to work in its favour.

Sara: Bidaai is doing well and we hope that the audience continues to support us.
