He reminds me of vanraj from hum dil de chuke.

Not ragini, but he was truly a super human..So why would one not like Anmol And APU did full justice to the role..👏👏👏

And parul too acted v well, never for once i felt that she didnt match him. She was shoulder to shoulder with him.. Very nice acting by her as well.

I agree with all that you have said..

Let me add also , People who saw pre leap felt that there was a break of jodi ... and therefore the why would'nt one like Anmol and Apu was the big issue...

The creatives had a reason to show also that society cannot accept a man and women relationship as just being friends , therefore the safest thing was to show them under wedlock. As viewers were were shown the depth in their relationship staying wedded but a seema or rekha between them.. which indeed was beautiful and pure.

The way creatives put forth his character to match Parul (Ragini) was basically to show that he would do anything to support her and make her feel comfortable of being under a promise of a deceiesed husband and live with a stranger under the same roof for 7 years...

They never shared of a married couple would, and they lives as stangers and support for each other..
Anmol is a human being and has feelings and over the years he did develop for Ragini yet he never wished to dwell into her personal thought unless she herself came upfront and expressed it..

Since his nature was like and he waited for time and it came when the accident was about to take his life and she expressed her deep concern abt him..

And as you said Ragini matched with Anmol's character yes thats really like the character had been elevated and its also with the way they need to show the years of groW*H of her character..
and Parul did an amazing job with that !👏
