Part 3

TaShi ran outside and were excited to see that anmol had arranged a bonfire. Sooner or later everyone joined in besides Ragini. Anmol had gone inside to get Ragini, she was sitting on her bed looking out the window, completely lost in her thoughts. It could be about Anmol.

"Ragini?" said anmol in a low voice.

Hearing anmol's voice made ragini react and look towards the door. There he was, his face as calm as always. How did he do that? How did he stay calm for so many years? How can one be so selfless? This was something that Ragini always wondered. Anmol was now standing next to her.

*Aap* anmol always respected her; he never even tried to force his rights on her. He respected the distance she kept from him. Ragini was in those thoughts again'hearing no response from Ragini anmol once again called out her name. She snapped out from her thoughts and faced the reality. He was there asking rather more requesting her to join in with them. She tried to make her way up on her feet, but it was too painful to put her weight on her right foot. Anmol without saying anything let his hand out to support Ragini. She didn't give it a 2^nd thought and held on to his hand. Anmol grabbed her shawl on the way, Ragini was a bit unbalanced, he was a bit hesitant to keep his hand on her shoulder at first, but to give her proper support he did. She didn't look at him but kept walking. Maybe she didn't mind him keeping his hand on her shoulder, because she knew that he did it for her own good. Ragini sat down very carefully on the mattress that surrounded the bonfire. Anmol wrapped her shawl around her as he knew it was cold outside, and he didn't want her to fall sick. Such small things brought a smile on Ragini's face and made Anmol such a caring husband. Everyone got talking, but anmol had his eyes on Ragini only, and vice versa, both unaware of the people around them who were now all quiet and looking at the two. Vasu was the least interested to see the love bloom between the two.

"Tammy ke papa aap ragini ko ghurna bandh karo." said aalekh with his pure innocence.

Anmol broke the eye lock immediately, letting a smile appear on his face. Ragini too felt a bit embarrassed over this. What was she doing? Why is she getting attracted towards anmol? What was it that wanted her to go closer to him? Was she falling for him? Was she in love? Thoughts once again began to rule over ragini's mind. It was high time she got answers for all these questions. The emotions that died with Ranvir were now back once again...but this time it was for Anmol.

"mamma aap papa se bohut pyaar karte ho na?" asked the innocent Tammy.

This question surprised both Anmol and Ragini. Anmol knew that it was one sided love all along as Ragini had always loved Ranvir. Ragini didn't know how she would get away with this question as she was struggling to find the answer to this herself. Did she love anmol? Ragini had no answer, anmol knew it as well. Both just looked on at each other, Ragini was uncomfortable and anmol knew this.

"Batao na mamma." said tammy once again.

Anmol knew that ragini didn't love him, but still he wanted to know her answer. Ragini just looked on at tammy and with a slight smile she nodded yes.

"Haan beta, main aapke papa se bohut pyaar karti hoon." said ragini.

This surprised Anmol. Did his ears heard right? Did she just say she loved him? He hadn't had enough of this excitement when he thought that perhaps this nod was for Ranvir, as biologically he was Tammy's father. Ragini looked at Anmol to see what his reaction would be, but she found no sign of happiness on his face. Didn't this affect anmol at all? Was she the only one struggling with these feelings?

It was getting late now. TaShi were feeling really tired from all that fun they had. Sakshi took aalekh and the kids inside, while Angini sat there enjoying the slight breeze as well as the heat of the fire. The silence had taken over the situation. 15 minutes had passed away yet both didn't utter one word. Both had the same thing going on in their mind. How long was this going to go for? Is this all what the destiny has in store for them, this distance?

It was getting harder for Ragini to bare this silence.

"Suniye'" said ragini finally breaking this silence.

Just hearing ragini's voice made anmol's heart skip a beat. Anmol just looked at Ragini, but hadn't uttered a word. It was getting cold and the breeze felt like needles being pirced through your body. Ragini was kind of shivering and she sees that Anmol is too cold.

"Raat bohut ho gayi hai, aur thand bhi zyada hai...chaliye andar chaliye."

"ji." Anmol got up and he let his hand out to help Ragini up.

She tried getting up with his support but the pain was too much that it was so hard for her to stand up on her feet. Anmol once again had no choice but to carry her, he without saying anything carried her in his strong arms. This time there was no place for awkwardness. A lot had changed in the past few months. Things were turning better, for good. Anmol's silence was killing Ragini, he barely spoke to her confession. This had ragini worried, why wasn't anmol speaking to her? Did she do something wrong? Did anmol have no feelings for her? Was he with her just to fulfill the promise he made to Ranvir? These thoughts were really disturbing her. She was so lost that she never realised that they had reached their room and Anmol very carefully placed her on the bed. Ragini still hadn't had enough of those thoughts when anmol said "Aap thak gayi hongi, aap so jaaiye."

Is that it? Is that all he will say? Was something really wrong? Ragini couldn't hold herself back anymore. She had to ask. "Kuch problem hai kya?"

Anmol gave her that look again. The look that asks her a thousand questions, the look she always avoid. There was a long pause before anmol replied "Nai koi problem nahi hai." said anmol breaking this silence.

"Problem nahi hai toh phir aap...aap itne chup..." ragini couldn't finish her sentence, she was really afraid to ask him.

Anmol didn't say anything but just gave her the look that said "as if you don't know the reason." Ragini had no answer to that look, what could she say? She had kept him waiting for so long and now she isn't even sure if anmol still feels for her or not. What could she do? She was really confused.

Anmol really couldn't take this anymore, he really had waited for her for long and he'll continue to wait for her, but these distances were eating him away. He wanted to live again...for himself. He had completely forgotten the lifestyle he had before Ranvir came in his life and handed him over his entire responsibilities to him, which changed his entire life.

He finally gained the courage to express his feelings to her. It was now or never. "Ragini...main jaanta hoon ke aap Ranvir ko kabhi bhula nahi paayengi...aur main chahta bhi nahi hoon ki aap use bhula de...par...kya aapke dil mein thodi si jagah hai mere liye?"

Ragini saw something different in Anmol's eyes, it was pain, love. Those teary eyes seemed to have taken over Ragini.

"Main aapse zyada kuch nahi maang raha hoon, bas thodi si jagah de dijiye mujhe. dengi na?"

Ragini was feeling really bad, she really was. She couldn't manage to gain the courage to meet his eyes, she looked away as tears rolled down her face. He never realised that she too has feelings for her. She had admitted in front of tammy as well as the rest, yet how can he not notice?

Anmol knew Ragini wouldn't give him any answer yet he still waited to hear something from her, even if it is a no but he didn't want her silence. After a long wait he decided to give up and was just about to walk away when he felt someone hold his arm. It was Ragini, he soft and delicate hand was holding him.

"I'm sorry." said ragini in tears.

She had completely broken down, anmol immediately sat next to her when he noticed that she was in tears. He could never bare to see tears in her eyes, he felt the pain. Anmol wiped her tears and asked "Ragini aap ro kyun rahi hai? dekhiye agar anjaane mein maine aapka dil dukhaya hai toh..."

It surprised anmol when he felt Ragini hug him tight. She was in tears and kept repeating "I'm Sorry." Anmol didn't understand why was she apologising?

"Ragini aap sorry kyun bol rahi hai? Kya hua?" Anmol was really worried as he never saw ragini crying so much.
