Inderjeet's marriage was arranged...with Ambika. And when he went to their house to see the girl, he chose the younger sister instead of the girl he was meant to see. And thus Ambika was rejected because of her 'dark' skin. After that Satyen-Ambika got married and the older sister became choti bahu...which was a sting to Ambika. Vasu's attitude and behaviours made things worse because she never acknowledged Ambika as her older sister. Instead made her 'take ashirwaad' from her feet!
