Not to burst anyone's bubble, I know everyone right now is rly happy seeing Malti's new change of character towards Ragini and Ranvir. But truly, I find it very awkward seeing Malti crying, choosing bangles, acting all soft - its just not her. I rly hope that soon she changes back.

For example, look at Kaushalya. She was the true matriach at the beginning of the show, bossing around everyone, even Malti was scared of her. So when Puneet-Ragi rishta broke, when Kaush turned all nice and started massaging Sadhna's feet it was quite a shock. Vibha Chibber is fabulous actor, and I find her at her best when she's portraying a role similar to the one she played when Bidaai first started. Lately, she's turned back to her old self - which is such a relief.
So just like that, just imagine Malti turning all nice and mushy, ironing everyone clothes and bursting into tears every 5 seconds. Negative characters are meant to be negative, and any strange character change that occurs makes everything turn topsy-turvy. Now just think... what if Vasu realized that she was wrong all along, and to make everything better she decides to turn on a new leaf and begins ironing everyone's clothes, fixing up their lunches, and hugging Sadhna and Ragini.
Malti's character has been quite confusing the past week. At one angle, shes just waiting to get her hands on Avni-Naveen's throats... and on the other hand she's picking out bangles for Ragini? Negative people against negative people only equals positive, which leaves the show bland and tasteless. No matter what anyone says, its the truth, Malti is the tadka of the show and w/o the spice she adds... everything looks and sounds akward and unusual.
Just my opinion, I want the old Malti back... I was truly feeling suffocated the entire episode today seeing this new side of Malti.

Kruthi, the thing with Malti is that she's had quite a shock when Vineet went to jail and she's realized who truly was there for her--her family-- and who wasn't--her so called friend Avni.

Mamiji realized the extent of Sadhana's love for Ragini when she injured herself not to go to Ragini's wedding for Ragini's sake.

These 2 characters aren't evil. That wouldn't make sense and it would be an Ekta show. These 2 characters are human. Malti is a selfish person, but she is still human and what she went through is enough for her to change even if it is a little bit. It makes sense for her to do what she's doing for Ragini because she gains from it so she hasn't completely changed. She gets her revenge and she gets to show her appreciation to Ranvir for all he's done. Also, she saw how Ragini was willing to sacrifice her love and life for Vineet so it makes sense for her to melt a bit towards Ragini.

Mamiji was selfish when it came to her daughter. It's not that she didn't care about Sadhana. I'm sure once Ragini is settled, Mamiji will stop taking her anger out on Sadhana.

Mamiji is a different story, she was never conniving like Malti, she was simply the strict matriach of the family.
Now going back to Malti... this isnt the first time Vinu's gone to jail, so I dont see why we wud see a character change now when we didnt see it then. Malti's Malti... and someones character can't change just like that, with a snap. Just like with my other example, Vasu. No matter who goes to jail, or who dies, or whatever... I dont think we'd see Vasu actually sympathizing with someone, giving true advice to them w/o an ulterior motive, etc.
So, same with Malti... she can't just change like that... because it looks very, very strange.

Vasu is different than Malti. Vasu has people bowing down to her left and right and so she feels she controls everything and everyone.

Malti doesn't have that and yes this isn't the first time Vineet has gone to jail, but this is the first time he wasn't guilty and the first time Ragini was able to do something.

I just don't think Malti is faking what she feels for Ragini now. It doesn't look odd to me. It looks to me as if Malti is realizing her mistakes by trusting Avni and not her own family. She plotted against her own family and only screwed herself in the process. Even though she has been nothing, but karva to Ragini, Ragini was there to console her and help Vineet.

Malti has had a shock over everything. She really did trust Avni. I think once Vasu has a shock like that, we can see some change, but I also believe that once things settle down, we will see Malti in shades of grey, hopefully not as insane as she was recently.

But honestly I don't see any truly negative characters in Bidaai other than Avni and Naveen. Every single other character is shown having weak humane moments. Malti who is the most self-centered bitchy person in general has her moment of frailty when Vinu goes to jail and she fears that she may never get him back.

Vasu is an egoistic controlling kind of person, and yet her vulnerability is shown whenever she looks at Aalekh and craves affection from him or the same from Ranvir.

So in that way, these characters can swing either negative or positive based on the situation....they are true grey characters which are currently veering towards the darker side of the scale. That is what I like about the characters in general....that they are not black or white.....cuz this is not a regular K-soap thankfully😆

Vis a vis Malti, we have already found out in today's epi that she is doing this for her own motive of taking revenge from Avni, so this whole naatak of affection that she's been doing towards Ragi makes sense now.

The only characters I would feel weird acting perfectly positive are Avni or Naveen honestly....cuz they have never shown their humane side in the show....they are always scheming only.

I don't think Malti's feelings towards Ragini are a naatak. If they were, we would've seen it in Malti's expressions as they usually show. She genuinely seemed to care for Ragini and also seemed hurt when Ragini said that she wished Sadhana was there.

I dunno yaar Rahmina....I fully believed Malti in that moment, but then she clearly stated later in the scene with Vinu that she's only doing all this to get back at Avni and Vasu.

Yes, her expressions seemed genuine with Ragi but she herself states her intentions are only about revenge....so where does the concern for Ragi or Ranvir come in???

I'm honestly confused by Malti today.....going by the history of her character though, it would make more sense that she's doing this for her own motives.....it is too much of a change to expect that the woman who was passing such mean spirited remarks about Ragini's appearance and purposely sabotaged her earlier rishtas is now all sappy over her :S

I just feel like the shock Malti has been through has changed her a bit. In the past, she hasn't gone through this shock. Getting manipulated by Avni has shocked her and then to find out that they were behind her husband's humiliation has pushed her to exact revenge.

I do believe that Malti is grateful to Ranvir and I don't think she's acting with Ragini because Ragini was going to sacrifice her love for Vineet which is what Malti saw. I feel that Malti feels she owes it to Ragini because she has hurt Ragini a lot yet Ragini was there for her and Vineet when they needed Ragini the most, you know what i'm saying?

I don't think Malti has completely changed, but I do believe that she has some affection towards Ragini now.

I was gonna write the same exact thing😆
In real life, its hard to find negative or positive people....That is reason why I really find gray characters so fascinating...its true to life! And, I'm gonna have to agree with you that Naveen and Avni are truly negative character....I haven't seen any interaction of them with their kids so I could be wrong....

Malti is no goody goody now....she has her motive to get revenge on Avni and Naveen....I'm not gonna rule out her bitchy side taking over soon enough....at least she's doing nice things for Ragini at the moment....she didn't HAVE to give her bangles to Ragini....but she did and that was nice of her...

Rahm/Apux: I guess you guys have a point....maybe there is some genuineness involved in Malti being nice to Ragi cuz yeah, she really doesn't HAVE to do extra things like helping her get dressed or giving her the bangles in order to exact her revenge from Avni.

I guess I was just so disappointed after her revealing her motive for revenge today that I started to feel suspicious of all her actions....LOL.

Either way, she is not a doodh ki dhuli hui from any angle....she'll find reasons to return to her taunting self sooner or later....LOL.

But I'm going to enjoy watching her put Avni in her place when the Rajnvansh family shows up....haha.
