I think Rudra is absolutely annoying even though he had been let down by many of his close females in his life. He is portrayed to be a spoil rich boy with no cares in the world and who has the ability to walk and do whatever he wants without having his family wanting him to get involved in the business activities either............why do they get such people portrayed as heroes? After all he is given an image of a guy who simply can't get over his former love and childhood sweetheart ...... and then he depends on Gauri and expects the world from her ...... the guy is good looking can he deny that? And which lunatic will marry someone just to take revenge from that person after all Gauri was so good to him except for that one mistake of hers...... Rudra's character is wrong and if you and I were given the opportunity to have someone else bring home the money so that he can live a very luxurious life and have the best of everything and then taunt father and brother and keep his babhi and mother ever worried about his insulting and humiliating behaviour I guess you can call him as absoutely overly SPOILT. Rudra could have been depicted in a much better manner. He first causes embarrasment to Pihu for rejecting him at her engagement and wedding which is outrageous and totally unacceptable - I guess anyone would have sympathised with him for everything if he had not done things of this nature. And how come he can't see Gauri's tears when he gets into trouble and not think that she could have fallen for him? Such childish behaviour is unacceptable and nothing to praise about........viewers wake up from your deep slumber...........think about some of the other character heroes and think for yourself......

I'm amazed that there ARE ppl out there who actually believe in characters like Rudra who do nothing but get praised for picking on others and having an inability to have any control over his own self.
Indians are amazing - I thought you guys had better sense than that - are you'll the same guys who also admire hardworking characters like Abhi, Manav, Satish and Shekhar.

An intersting analysis of Rudra. Yes, he definitely comes across as a spoilt brat - something that I've never liked, but what makes him even more spoilt is he had no sense of purpose, no job, and no friends and spends his entire life pinning away for Pihu. If he didn't look like Iqbal Khan, I would probably never even look twice at him.
As for the point of marrying her to take revenage, the reasoning behind it is that if he cannot be with someone, then Gauri has no right to be with anyone either. He feels she betrayed him and set him up - she wanted him and ruined his chances and then when she realized he didn't want her, she chose to get married to someone else. The idea is that she is going to have another chance at love but he won't. That's why. And of course its wrong, but of course everyone loves "masala" and it's Iqbal Khan people see when Rudra is putting the sindoor in her hair, not some raving lunatic. However, I think the people here have NEVER praised Rudra's actions and everyone here has said what he did was wrong, so there is no evidence to praise or support this behavior.
Also, overall Rudra is not a bad person; yes he has some foul behaviors when it comes to treating women - like slapping them - and this has ruined the character of Rudra for me FAR more than the act of revenage. But let us face it, we all love love-hate relationships where a woman wins the love of man who does not love her.

Just a note, I don't like a lead to always be a *good guy* and as some of you know I simply loved the character Shiv in another KAA show, but for me the character of Rudra simply does not appeal to me. There are parts of his personality and character I do not like and that has nothing to do with how he treated Gauri on her wedding day.
