Part 17

Ganga: is baar sirf bhaiya tha, dosri baar koi aur aayega, aur phir sab ko pata chala jayenge! Phir kya hoga!! (this time it was brother, next time it will be someone else, and then everyone will find out!! then what will happen!)

Saagar lets go!!

Saagar: tum bhi na! lo jaane diya! Lekin dekhti raho, mein phir itni ehsani se nahin jaane doonga! (even you! here i let you go! but keep watching, i won let u go so easily again!)

Ganga looks at saagar!

Ganga: aaye! (come in!)

Its shubodh he peeps in through the door!

Shubodh: kya undar aana safe hai?? (is it safe to come in?)

Ganga smiles!

Ganga: haa bhaiya! (yes brother)

Shubodh comes in!!

Saagar: sach jiju! (excited) (really jiju?)

Shubodh: haa saagar! tum ready ho jao, mein formalities puri karte aata hoon!! (yes saagar, you get ready, i will go and complete the formalities and come!)

Ganga: jee bhaiya! (and she smiles) (okay bhaiya)

Shubodh leaves!

Saagar: ganga? (ganga?)

Ganga: kya hai? (what is it)

Saagar: ab hum ghar pe kaise milenge?? (how will we meet at home now?)

Ganga smiles!!

Saagar: tum kya has rahe ho? Hum kya karenge?? (why are you laughing? what will we do?)

Ganga: saagar tum bhi naa! Kyun pareshaan ho rahe ho!! Koi na koi raasta nika lenge!! Ab to yahan se jayen! Mujhe ghar bohot yaad aa raha hai!! (saagar even you! why you getting worried! we will find some way! for now lets go from here! i am missing home alot!)

Saagar: (laughs) okay baba! Voh baad mein soochenge! Pehle tumko ghar le jaate hain!! (and he helps ganga get her things together) (okay baba! we will think about that after! first we will take you home!)

Ganga is sitting on the edge of her bed getting her things from the drawer next to the bed!! Saagar comes over!!

Saagar: ganga?? (ganga?)

Ganga: kya?? (what?)

Saagar: mujhse tumse kuch pooch na hai?? (i want to ask you something?)

Ganga: kya?? (what?)

Saagar sits on the bed next to her and takes her hands in his!

Ganga: saagar tum kya kar rahe ho? Bhaiya aajayenge?? (saagar what are you doing? bhaiya wil come?)

Saagar: aaja ne do! Mujhe koi farak nahin parta!! (let him come! it doesn't make a difference to me!)

Ganga: saagar, par….. (saagar, but.....)

(imagine them in hospital)

Ganga: saagar. baat kya hai? (saagar, what is the matter?)

Saagar: ganga mujhe vaada karo ke tum mujhe kabhi chor kar nahin jaonge!! (ganga promise me that you will never leave me!)

Ganga: saagar?? (saagar??)

Saagar: tum jaanti nahin, tumne yeh keh kar mujhse duniya ka sabse khushi insaan banaa hai! (he also has tears in his eyes) (you don't know, by saying this you have made me the world's happiest person!)

And they hug!!

Ganga: saagar. baat kya hai? (saagar, what is the matter?)

Saagar: karo mujhse vaada?? Ab zindagi tumhara bina ki baare mein soch bhi nahin sakhta! Vaada karo mujhse ganga?? (promise me! now i cannot think about life without you! promise me ganga?)

Ganga: (has tears in her eyes) mein vaada karti hoon, mein kabhie tumko chor kar kahin nahin jaonge!! (i promise, i will never go anywhere and leave you!)

They pull out after a 5 minute hug, saagar wipes Gangas tears! Ganga smiles!!

Saagar: tum apna baaki packing karlo mein dekh kar aata hoon ke shubodh jiju ne formalities puri kari ya nahin! (you finish your remaining packing, i'll go and check if Shubodh jiju has finished the formalities or not!)

Ganga: jee! (okay!)

Saagar kisses Ganga on the forehead and leaves!

Ganga thinks: saagar maine tumko vaada kiya ke mein tumse kabhi chor kar nahin jaongi, lekin voh vaada ka kya, jo maine kaveri didi ko diya tha, maine unhe vaada kiya tha ke mein tumhari aur uski shaadi kar vaongi jab voh Australia se vaapas aayogi! (She has tears in her eyes) (Saagar i have promised you that i will never leave you, but what about that promise, that i gave to kaveri didi, i had promised her that i will get you and her married when she returned from Australia!)

She is about to get up from the bed to continue getting her things together when shubodh and saagar come in!!

Shubodh: Ganga, discharge papers par sign hogaye, ab tum ghar jaa sakti ho, mujhe kuch kaam hai isliye mein nikalta hoon, baar ek gaadi hai, tum aur saagar ke liye! (Ganga, the discharge papers have been signed, now you can go home, i have some work so i will leave, there is a car outside, for you and Saagar!)

Saagar: thanks jijaji! (thanks jijaji)

Shubodh: ghar logo ko maine kaha ke Ganga shaam tak disharge ho jayegi, isliye tumhare paas pura dhin para hai ghum ne ke liye!! (i have told everyone at home that Ganga will be discharged in the evening, so you have the whole day to wander.go out!)

Saagar gets happy, Ganga looks at shubodh confused!

Saagar: oh jijaji I love you so much (and hugs him)!! (oh jijaji, i love you so much)

Ganga: par…. (but....)

Shubodh: par var kuch nahin, tum dono jao aur ghumo, ghar pe milne ka moke kam mile ga! Jao!! (no ifs or buts, you two go and wander/go out, you will get less chances to meet at home! go!!)

Ganga: (smiling) jee bhaiya! (yes bhaiya!)

Shubodh leaves!!

Saagar walks over to Ganga!

Saagar: jijaji bhi kitna understanding hai, usne mere dil ki baat sunli, aur tum, tum to meri kuch bhi baat nahin sunti (jijaji is very understanding, he heard what my heart was saying, and you, you don't listen to anything i say!)

Ganga: achaa? Mein tumhari baat nahin sunti, tumne meri baat kab suni hai? (isit? i don't listen to you, when have you listened to what i said?)

Saagar: mein tumhari har baat sunta hoon, mein abhi keh sakhta hoon ke tum kaveri ki vajhese pareshaan ho? (i listen to everything you say, right now i can say that who are worried due to Kaveri?)

Ganga: nahin, mein yeh soch rahe hoon ke zindagi tumhare bina hai ya nahin! (no, i am thinking whether or not there is a life without you!)

Saagar gets closer to Ganga, he takes her face in his hands!

Saagar: Ganga mujhe pata hai ke tum kaveri didi ki chinta hai, aur tum zindagi mere bina soch bhi nahin sakhti! (Ganga, i know that you are worried about Kaveri, and you can't think about life without me!)

Ganga, who has tears in her eyes, puts her hands on saagar's! They move in so their foreheads are against each other! Saagar pulls out and wipes Ganga's tears!

Saagar: ab jaldi karo, gumne nahin jaana kya? (now hurry up, don't you want to go out?)

Ganga smiles and nods gently!

Ganga packs the rest of her things! Her and Saagar leave the hospital! They are in the car!

Ganga: Saagar hum kahan jaa rahe hai? (looking confused) (Saagar where are we going?)

Saagar: gumne! (grinning) (wandering!)

Ganga: haa par kahan? (still confsed, she looks over at Saagar) (yes but where?)

Saagar: voh baad mein pata chale ga! (concentrating on driving) (you will find that out later!)

Ganga: baad mein? Ab kyun nahin keh sakhte?? (she starts to get angry) (later? why can't you tell me now?)

Saagar: kyunki ek surprise hai? (keeps grinning) (because it's a surprise!)

Ganga: surprise? Saagar batao na, kahan jaa rahe hai?? (getting impatient) (surprise? Saagar tell me? where are we going?)

Saagar: okay baba! Hum beach par jaa rahe hai! khush? (he does one of those funny, disappointed faces) (okay baba! we are going to the beach! Happy?)

Ganga: khush? Mujhe sirf tumhare saath waqt bitaana hai, mujhe koi farak nahin par ta ke hum beach pe jaa rahe hai, ya koi garden! Agar mein tumhare saath hoon, to mein khush ho! (happy? i just want to spend some time with you? it don't make a difference to me whether we are going to the beach, or some garden! If i am with you, i am happy!)

Saagar: acha? Kya baat hai! bari romantic mood mein ho! (really? what isit? you are in a very romantic mood!)

(he looks at her like that, but in the car)

Ganga embarrassed just laughs and looks out the window!

Saagar looks over at Ganga, he looks away and Ganga looks at him! They keep doing that for a good 5 mins, then they arrive at the beach!

Saagar: chalo aagaye! (come, we are here!)

They undo their seat belts and get out!!

Saagar walks around to Ganga's door!

He grabs her hand and they walk on the beach!!

Saagar: Ganga, tum jaanti ho? Maine ek sapna dekha tha, ek dhin mein aur tum, sunset pe, ek walk ke liye jaayenge, beach par! Voh sapna almost pura hogaya, lekin.. lekin… ab sirf 3 baja hai, isliye no sunset! (and he makes an upset face) (Ganga do you knoe? i saw a dream that, one day me and you, at sunset, will go for a walk, on the beach! that dream wa snearly fulfilled, but... but... right now it is only 3 o'clock, so no sunser!)

Ganga: (she pulls Saagar's cheek) awwww, so cute! Koi baat nahin, hum shaam tak beach pe gume ge! (awwww, so cute!! don't worry, we will wander on the beach till the evening!)

Saagar: kya? Bored nahin ho jaogi? (what? won't you get bored?)

Ganga: jab mein tumhare saath hoon, to mein bored kaise ho sakhti hoon! Aur waise, mujhe puri zindagi tumhare saath bitaani hai, agar mein abhi bored ho jaongi to aage kya hoga? (when i am with you, then how how can i be bored! and also, i have to spend my whole life with you, if i get bored now, then what will happen in the future?)

(She looks at him making her teasing face)

Saagar smiles at her

They continue to walk down the beach like this…

Ganga sees a stall that is selling ice lollies!

Ganga: Saagar, chalo, hum ice lolly khate hai! (Saagar, come, we will eat an ice lolly!)

Saagar: chalo! (come!)

Ganga and Saagar goes over to the ice lolly stall, just then Saagar's phone starts ringing!

Saagar: tum magaa lo, mein yeh call leta hoon, (he takes some money out of his pocket) aur yahan paise! (Ganga takes the money and nods at him) (you order it, i will take this call, (he takes some money out of his pocket) and here's the money!)

Saagar walks off to answer the phone call, Ganga looks at him walk off and orders two ice lollies! She pays the man and walks towards Saagar with the ice lollies, Saagar is still on the phone!

Saagar: jee… jee… mein aadhe gante mein pochta ho! Thanks love (and smiles) I really appreciate this!! (okay.. yes.. i will reach there in half an hour! Thanks love, i really appreciate this!)

Ganga thinks to herself: love, yeh saagar kiske saath baat kar raha hai? (love, who is Saagar talking to?)

Saagar hangs up the phone and turns around, he sees Ganga and smiles at her!! Ganga gives a faint smile, and hands him the ice lolly, Saagar takes it!

Ganga: kis se baat kar rahe the? (who were you talking to?)

Saagar: koi nahin! (and he starts walking off) (no one!)

Ganga thinks: koi nahin? Yeh to mujhse kuch na kuch to chupa rahe! Voh kis se baat kar rahe the? Kahin koi chakar…… (no one? he is definately hiding something form me! who was he talking to? is it some affair.....)

Saagar notices that Ganga is not walking with him, he looks back!

Saagar: chale?? (shall we go?)

Ganga snaps out, she looks at him and nods! She walks up to him!!

Saagar: mujhe thode der ke liye kis se milna hai! (i have to go and meet someone for a while!)

Ganga: kaun? (who?)

Saagar: ek dost! (a friend!)

Ganga: aaj milna zaroori hai? (is it necessary to meet him today?)

Saagar: haa! Ek kaam karte hai, hum saath chalte hai, aur phir ghar jaaenge! Theek hai? (he has finished eating his ice lolly) (yes! we will fo one thing, we will go together, and then go home!! is that okay?)

Ganga: mujhse kya pooch rahe ho? Lagta hai tumne already decide kar liya hai, to meri opinion kyun maang rahe ho? (slightly angry) (why are you asking me? it seems like you have already decided, so why are you asking for my opinion?)

Saagar: tumhe kya hogaye hai? mein tumse pooch raha hoon, kyun ki tumhara opinion bhi… chodiye! Pata nahin tumko achanak kya hogaye! (what's happened to you? i am asking you, because even your opinion... let it go! Don't know what happened to you all of a sudden!)

Ganga: mujhe kuch nahin hua hai! mein sirf yeh kehna chaati hoon, ke agar tumne yeh decide kiya hai ke hum saath mein jaaenge tumhare yeh dost se milne aur phir ghar jaaenge, to mujhe pooch ne vaali baat kya thi! vaise bhi tum sab faisle lete ho, kya tum um ne mujhe poocha ke hum beach pe jaaye ya kahin aur? Nahin na to abh kyun pooch rahe ho! (and she walks off, she drops her ice lolly on the floor) (nothing has happned to me! i just want to say that, that if you have decided that we will go together to meet this friend of yours and then we will go home, then what is the need to ask me! anyways you make all the decisions, did you ask me whether we will go to the beach or somewhere else! no isn't is so why are you asking now!) (and she walks off, she drops her ice lolly on the floor!)

Saagar: Ganga!! Arre usse achanak kya hogaye? (he looks confused) arre Ganga, meri baat suno (he starts chasing her) (Ganga! what happened to her all of a sudden? [he looks confused] arre Ganga, listen to me [he starts chasing her])

He keeps running after her, but she doesn't listen to him, so he runs a bit further and stands in front of her!!

Saagar: Ganga, baat kya hai?? (Ganga, what is it?)

Ganga: mere raaste se hato! (she tries to walk past him) (move out of my way!)

Saagar grabs her by the shoulders!

Saagar: Ganga, akhir baat kya hai, mujhe batao! (Ganga, what is the matter, tell me!)

Ganga: koi baat nahin hai! mujhe jaane do!! (its nothing! let me go!)

Saagar: par?? Ganga, aise kyun kar rahe ho? Chalo mujhe jaana hai, mujhe der ho rahe hai! (but?? Ganga, why are you doing this? come i have to go, im getting late!)

Ganga: tum jao! (you go!)

Saagar: itni zid kyun kar rahe ho? (why are you being so stubborn?)

Ganga: zid mein nahin tum kar rahe ho! (im not being stubborn you are!) (She walks past him and starts walking faster)

Saagar: Ganga, mujhe iss sab ke liye waqt nahin hai! (Ganga, i dont have time for all this!)

Ganga: mere liye bhi waqt kahan hai? (you don't even have time for me?)

Saagar: yeh tum kaise baat kar rahe ho! (what are you saying?)

Ganga: saach to keh rahe hoon! (i am telling the truth!!)

Saagar: okay that's it! (okay thats it!!)

He runs upto Ganga, goes in front of her and puts her over your shoulder! Ganga is shocked, she starts to kick her legs and hit Saagar on the back!!

Ganga: Saagar mujhe chodo, yeh tum kya kar rahe ho, sab dekh rahe hai! (Saagar let me go, what are you doing, everyone is looking!)

Saagar: dekhne do! Pata nahin tum ko kya hogaye hai! agar mere paas tumhare liye waqt nahin hai, to kya mein 2 dhin ke liye tumhare paas hospital bet tha! (he starts talking to himself) pata nahin yeh ladki ko kya hogaye, mein us baar gumne liya tha hoon, aur voh keh hi hai ke mere paas uske liye waqt nahin hai! (let them see! don't know what has got over you! if i didn't have time for, then would i sit next to you in the hospital for 2 days! [he starts talking to himself] don't know what has happened to this girl, i take her out, and she says that i don't have time for her!)

Ganga hears all this and calms down! She starts to feel bad! Just then Saagar's phone starts to ring! His phone is in the pocket on the side where he is carrying Ganga over his shoulders! He switches her to the other shoulder and answers the phone call!

Saagar: jee, mein aa raha hoon, dekho mein abhi baat nahin kar sakta, bas 10-15 minute mein poch tha hoon!! (okay, i am coming, listen i can't talk right now, i will reach there in just 10-15 minutes!)

Ganga is thinking again who this is!

Saagar: okay bye love!! (okay bye love!)

Ganga thinks: love? Iska matlab voh phir usse baat kar rahe tha, jise voh pehle chupke chupke se baat kar raha tha! Aur voh mere samne usse baat nahin kar sakhte? Kyun? Akhir kaun hai yeh shaksh?? (love?? that means that he was talking to them again, who he was talking to before quitely! and he can't talk to them in front of me? why? after all who is this person?)

Ganga: kaun tha voh? (who was it?)

Saagar: tumse kya? Abh mujse baat karne lagi? (whats it to you? now you talk to me?) (he mimicks her) kaun tha voh? (who was it?)

Ganga is getting angrier!

Ganga: Saagar mujhe niche utaaro! (Saagar put me down!)

Saagar: agar maine tumhe niche utaare, to tum phir se bhaag ne lago gi, aur mere paas time nahin hai! (if i put you down, then who will start running again, and i don't have the time for that!)

Ganga: waqt nahin hai? aur sab blood mere brain mein jaa raha hai! mujhse jo latka ke rakha hai na! (you dont have time? and all the blood is going to my brain! you have kept me dangling!)

Saagar: jaane do! Akhir dhimaag chalne ka koi chance to hai! bas car park aagaye, sirf 2 minute! (let it go! atleast there is a chance of your brain working! the car park has come, just two minutes!)

Ganga is getting furious now, her blood was boiling! What was this? Was she feeling jealous of Saagar talking to another girl? Why was she going so mad? Why did she lose control when she heard him talk to the other girl? What was she feeling?

While she was lost in her thoughts they reached the car! Saagar opened her door and sat her in the car! He closed to door, and went round to the driver side! He sat in and they drove off! Ganga was looking at Saagar, staring at him in awe!!

Ganga thinking: voh kitna pyaara hai! mujhse kitna pyar karta hai, aur mein usse galat samaj kar bheti! mein usse apne ap se zayada bharosa karti hoon, aur maine yeh bharose ko tor diya! Yeh maine kya kiya! (he is so loving! he loves me so much, and i sat her misunderstanding him! i trust him more then myself, and i broke this trust! what have i done!)

She has tears in her eyes! She starts crying to herself and turns to face the window! Saagar notices her crying! He looks over at her! He brakes the car all of a sudden! Ganga is shocked, she looks over at Saagar! He puts the hand brake on and takes off his seat belt, he turns around to face Ganga!

Saagar: ab tum kyun roh rahe ho! Tum jaanti hoon na mein tumhari aankhon mein aasu nahin dekh sakta! (now why are you crying! you know that i can't see tears in your eyes!)

He wipes the tears, this causes Ganga to cry more! Ganga lowers her eyes!

Ganga: I'm sorry! (i'm sorry!)

Saagar: kiske liye? (for what?)

Ganga: voh jo beach par hua! Maine tumko phone par baate karte hue suna tha, aur mujhe thodi se jalaan hui thi (for what happened at the beach! i heard you speaking on the phone, and i was a bit jealous!) (she quitens down at the end)

Saagar starts laughing! Ganga looks at him confused!

Saagar: Ganga tum bhi na! (he wipes her tears, he holds her shoulders) kya tumko mujhpe vishwas nahin hai kya? Tumhe lagta hai ke mein tumhe aisa dokha de sakhta hoon? (Ganga ven you! don't you trust me? do u think that i can betray you like this?)

Ganga: maine kaha na! I'm sorry! Mujhe nahin pata mujhe kya hogaya! (i told you didn't i! i'm sorry! i don't know what happened to me!)

Saagar: Abh sorry kyun keh rahe ho! Tum bhi na! (he holds her face in his hands) Ganga mein sirf tumhe pyar karta hoon, sirf tumse! (now why are tou saying sorry? even you! [he holds her face in his hands] Ganga i love only you, only you) (he kisses her on the forehead) ab chale?? (shall we go now?)

Ganga: (smiles) jee!! (yes!!)

Saagar turns back to face the front and fastens his seat belt! They start to drive off! After driving for 5 minutes! They reach a hotel! Saagar parks his car and unfasts his seat belt!

Ganga looks at him in awe!

Ganga smiles and takes off her seat belt! She gets out the car and goes with Saagar! they go into the hotel! They go into a big hall! The lights are off! Ganga looks at Saagar who looks confused!

Ganga: Saagar.. lights?? (Saagar.. light??)

Suddenly the lights slowly come on!

This place was decorated with drapes around the side, with flowers… placed around the room!

In the middle was a table, with a white cloth

Ganga stares at Saagar!

Ganga: yeh sab? (all this??)

Saagar takes Ganga's hand and takes her to the table! He makes her sit down, he lights the candels!

Saagar: jab mein phone par tha, tab mein yeh sab organise kar raha tha! (when i was on the phone, then i was organising all this!)

Ganga had tears in her eyes!!

Ganga: yeh sab karni ki zaroorat kya thi? (what was the need to do all this?)

Saagar: thi! tum nahin samaj pao gi! Mein chata tha ke hum dono dinner ke liye jaaye! Aise jaaga pe, ke sirf mein aur tum ho! (there was! You won't understand! I wanted us two to go for dinner! In such a place, where it is only me and you!)

Just then some music starts playing!

Saagar gets up from his chair, he goes round to Ganga and holds out his hand!

Saagar: dance karogi? (will you dance?)

Ganga looks at him in awe, she puts her hand on Saagar's! She gets up and they both move away from the table! Falak tak is playing in the background! At first they dance how they dances at Gudiya's school fate (normal slow dance)! Then they dance with Saagar standing behing Ganga, and they just sway, Saagar kisses her cheek!

When the music ends Saagar gets down on his knees! He holds Ganga's hands! Ganga looks a bit confused, but has tears in her eyes!!

Saagar:

hume apne dil main basaye rakhna,
harami yaadon ke chiraag jalaye rakhna,
bauhat lamba hai safar zindagi ka,
ek hissa humain bhi banake rakhna...

Ganga has tears in her eyes!

Saagar: kya tum mujhse shaadi karogi? (he takes out a ring out of his pocket) (will you marry me?)
