Rajesh Shringarpure, who used to play Shekhar in Sangam, refused to lay down on the woods during his death scene in the show. We were curious to know why.
"I had to lie down on the funeral pyre but I just did not feel like doing that scene that day. I was ready to give a close shot. Eventually, I agreed to do it with a body double."
Rajesh explains that he is not the only actor who refused to do it. "All actors generally use a body double for such scenes. The production was also ok with it so nothing ugly happened."
Rajesh's role was a cameo initially in the show. "When I was singed for this role I knew that my character was going to die but since my track was doing well they decided to increase the length of my character and it went on for one year. However, Sagar and Ganga needed to be together so I had to die eventually."
The actor has now decided to take a month's break. "After doing daily shows for 4 years I need it. I am planning to go out of town for Holi. There are lots of offers but I have told all to wait because I need to spend some time with my family and friends."
Rajesh used to play Lord Krishna in Saarathi. He was the second lead in Sangam.
