Fifty

Parth looked momentarily shocked when Randhir stood up for Sanyukta.

"What?" he said out loud, surprised. "Since when were you worshipping Sanyukta Agarwal? From what I remember, you like to steer clear of wh**es."

"She isn't a wh**e," Randhir said, pulling on Parth's collar hard. "And treat Arpita nicely. Just because you broke up with her and you love Vidhushi, doesn't mean you can treat her like shit."

"Before you judge why I'm treating Arpita this way, why don't you find out the whole story?" Parth asked him, with a raised eyebrow.

Vidhushi and Arpita both looked at them, confused.

"Okay... fine, I'll listen to your story, but don't call Sanyukta that again. She's not a wh**e. She's the sweetest girl... and she's amazing," Randhir told Parth. "Don't call her that."

"Fine," Parth said. "Come in."

He dragged Randhir inside, leaving Vidhushi and Arpita outside. Parth sighed and said, "Look Randhir. I care about Arpita a lot, but she loves me too much. Reason, I don't know... but I can't lead her on and show her I care. That's why I'm being a jerk to her. It's for her."

Randhir felt his heart sink when he heard that. Once again, he judged too fast. Parth was essentially doing the same thing he did with Arpita, that he was doing with Sanyukta... except he wasn't being a jerk to Sanyukta.

"Sorry," Randhir murmured.

"It's okay," Parth said. "So what's with this Sanyukta obsession now?"

"She isn't a wh**e... she was a virgin," Randhir told Parth, feeling his heart ache.

"What?" Parth asked, surprised. "And how do you know?"

"Nevermind... Parth I need to get out of here. I'm sorry," Randhir told Parth. "I can't stay here."

Then he went upstairs to pack his bags, leaving Parth stunned. Randhir threw his clothes into his bags quickly before lugging them downstairs. Arpita was gone and Vidhushi was sitting in the living room.

"Randhir... are you sure you want to go?" Vidhushi asked him.

He nodded.

"Yeah, I have to," he told her. "I have to go... I'll speak to you later."

"But... Randhir, why were you defending Sanyukta?" Vidhushi asked, sound nervous to ask.

"Don't worry," Randhir told her. "Just know that everything you heard about her was a lie. I'll keep in touch."

Then he dragged his suitcases out and hailed a cab. He told the cab driver the address to Sanyukta's neighborhood and the cab driver took him there.

As soon as he got there, he went to an apartment building that was across the street from Sanyukta's house, and asked for a place to rent. They gave him a place easily and Randhir unpacked his stuff there. He was on the second floor.

When he went to his room, and went on to his balcony, he realized that he could see inside Sanyukta's bedroom. She wasn't there, but Randhir felt his heartbeat speed up nervously. This was perfect.

He had decided that if he couldn't live with staying out of Sanyukta Agarwal's life, then he would live with staying inside her life... silently making things alright for her, making her life as perfect as possible. He would do whatever he could do for her, while lurking in the shadows. She would never find out, and he would be happy, just by seeing her happy.

Yes boys will be boys! 😆 They think they can take things in their own hands when really they don't have any control. 😛

Fifty One

Randhir would stand by his window and watch to see if Sanyukta was well. The first glimpse he had of her was the same night he moved into his apartment. Her eyes were swollen and she had been getting ready for bed. As soon as she turned off her lights and went to sleep, Randhir did too.

In the mornings, he would wake up early, so he would be up before her. Slowly, he started to go insane.

That would be his routine... wake up earlier than five, sleep when she slept... and just make sure everything was okay with her.

In the beginning, he would just wait at home and watch her, but over time, she would stay out for longer, and come home with the same stony expression, just to sleep.

He knew he wasn't watching her to see if she just slept well, he was watching her to make sure her life ran smoothly, so over the days, he quickly signed on a plot, and got his business started.

In two weeks, Rehaan came to Mumbai too, and Randhir didn't tell him where he was living, worried that he would go and tell Sanyukta.

Rehaan had been living in a hotel when Randhir proposed the idea, feeling his heart sink a little, at the thought.

"Why don't you live with Sanyukta?" Randhir asked him.

"I don't know if she'd like that," Rehaan told him.

"Why not? I lived with her," Randhir told Rehaan nonchalantly. "If she could live with me, she should be able to live with you."

"I guess I can talk to her," Rehaan said. "I have a lot of catching up to do with her anyways."

Randhir smiled as Rehaan agreed. He thought that Rehaan and Sanyukta would make a nice couple... if only she opened up to him. They were childhood friends, and Rehaan did seem to care about her a lot.

Soon Rehaan moved into Sanyukta's place, and Randhir would notice that Sanyukta didn't come to her room until later and later at night, and when she entered her room, she would have a smile on her face, as if she had found some new happiness, and Randhir would smile as soon as he saw her smile.

One day, about a month after Randhir had moved into his apartment, he noticed Sanyukta leave her house through his window, looking frantic. Frowning, he wondered what was happening and why she looked so stressed out on a Saturday morning. He left his apartment and got into a cab to follow her.

When his cab stopped outside a cheap motel, he paid the driver money and the cab driver sped away. He didn't know whether Sanyukta went inside or if she was somewhere outside.

Randhir's eyes fell on a bunch of little boys who were playing off to the side of the motel and he approached them cautiously.

"Have you seen a lady here? She was wearing jeans and a black shirt?" Randhir asked them, kneeling to get on their height.

The boys looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.

"No," one of the boys said, who looked to be no older than two. "But I'm Dhruv and he's Neil and we're good at English. The other boys are bullies."

Randhir smiled at the kid who pointed to himself and at Neil, who looked about the same age.

"Hi Dhruv, hi Neil. I can see you're good at English," Randhir told them.

"Maybe she ran away because she didn't like you," Dhruv said, then he started to giggle immaturely.

Randhir smiled at Dhruv and then ruffled his hair before he glanced around. There was no other option, Sanyukta had to be in this motel.

He entered the motel hesitantly. It was a really strange hotel, and he wondered why kids were even playing to the side of it. Shaking his head, he approached the reception.

"Where did the girl who just came here five minutes ago go?" Randhir asked the receptionist.

"Why? Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist said sternly.

Appointment? Randhir frowned. This didn't sound good.

"Yeah, I do," he told the receptionist.

"She's in room 10. I think she's with someone now, so wait," he told Randhir.

"Okay got it," Randhir said, then hurried off to room 10.

What was Sanyukta up to now?
