PART 2
The next morning, the sunlight came in through the window, illuminating the surroundings with warm and golden light. Vidushi woke up and stretched herself. She was amused to see the condition of the burnt cake...more like, its remains. It had been destroyed and demolished by Parth and her. She chuckled slightly.
Parth was still fast asleep, snoring gently with his mouth half open. She smiled looking at him. He looked so cute while sleeping. Like a baby.
She went to the bathroom and brushed and washed up. It was a Sunday, so she didn't need to go to work. She tied her hair up in a loose bun and washed the plate they had eaten in the previous night.
After that, there was nothing left to do.
Suddenly, her phone beeped. Checking her notifications, she saw that she had received a message-
(SMS will be in italic font)
What progress have you made?
The message made her tense. Really tense.
She replied-
Not much...but I'm trying my best.
Within a minute, she received a reply.
TRYING?? It's been 2 months!! And you're still just trying??!! 😡
She immediately replied-
It's not as easy as you think...please understand! Have faith on me. It will take some time. But the work will be done.
Her forehead creased with worry as she pressed the send button.
Another reply-
I don't have time for any of your excuses! We don't have all the time in the world. This work must be done fast. The conference is just a few weeks away! I'm telling you Vidushi...if you don't finish this work fast, you will face consequences.
Consequences?
She was really worried now. If she couldn't do the work in time, then...
"Good morning!"
Startled by Parth's sudden loud greeting, she dropped her phone.
"Good morning Parth! You scared me," she replied with a nervous smile.
"Sorry. I made you drop your phone," he replied. He picked it up.
"It's ok. I'm going out...I'll take it for repairs," replied Vidushi, taking it from him.
"Going out where?" Parth asked. "To meet a friend," she replied.
"Ok...have a good time," he said.
Both of them walked inside. "I'll go and get the milk and newspapers from the doorstep," he told her.
"I'm going for a bath," she said.
After 20 minutes, Vidushi came to the dining table and saw Parth making coffee in the kitchen.
She checked her watch. It was 10 o'clock already. Time to leave.
"So, what would you like for breakfast? Scrambled eggs? Fried eggs? Boiled eggs?" he asked her cheerfully, keeping two mugs of coffee on the table.
Eggs and coffee were the only things he could make without messing up!😆
"Nothing. You eat...I've got to go," Vidushi replied.
"At least have some coffee before you leave," he told her.
"Ok," she replied. She finished her coffee fast and went to the door.
"BYE! I'll be back in an hour," she said to him. He waved to her with a big smile.
She sat in her car and drove to a secluded church situated close to a graveyard. It took her just 2 minutes to reach.
She walked in.
"Ah! I was just waiting for you to arrive," said a man with a hoarse and rough voice.
Turning back, she sighed and said, "I've succeeded in trapping him."
