ok marrige rituals...---
Bengalis don't do engagements instead there is a Ritual which is called "ASHIRWAD"--__its actually the ritual where the grooms family give thier blessings along with some gifts to the bride and Viceversa after the marriage is fixed...
then the next is Haldi ceremony which happens at the day of marriage in the morning...
at first the haldi is applied to the groom and then his family members pass that haldi used by groom to the brides family to be applied by her...
both bride and Groom keep fast at their marriage day,... they are only allowed to have fruits and sweet unless the marriage gets over...
Groom's mother also keeps fast and she does't attains the marriage...
Bengali marriages never happens in the Day time...
the bidai ceremony happens at the next morning... and the night of the marrige is called Jagoron(well maybe 🤣) when both bride and groom along with some relatives stay awake whole night...
next night the BRIDe and Groom sleep in separate rooms in grooms house and that ritual is callled "Kalratri"..
on the next morning another ritual called "BouVat" is performed where groom promises to take all the resposibility of the bride...that night usually the reception party is held...
and from that night onwards bride stays with the groom and their first night is called "suhaanraat"(i guess thats a common thing 🤣)
for now i remember this much only...
