Sorry for taking forever to update. My excuse - interviews, exams, and lots of laziness!!
The phone conversation in this next part was used by me in one of my previous FF's. Not the exact words but the general gist. So yes, I'm plagiarizing myself 😛 But I figured this is something my Bindiya would really do.
Part 9
Bindiya picked up the ringing phone, "Hello."
"Hello madam. My name is Ravi. I'm calling about your Time Magazine subscriptions."
"Yes?" She watched as Vinay looked at her curiously, probably wondering who was on the phone. She smiled at him.
"We're offering a sale this month. Anyone who signs up for the first six months will get free magazines for the rest of the year."
She giggled, "Is that so?"
Ravi cleared his throat, "Erm...yes. Ma'am."
"What time do you want to meet then?" she said breathlessly.
Ravi didn't answer for a moment.
"Erm..ma'am. You seem to have misunderstood me. I'm calling from..."
She interrupted him, "I know exactly what you are implying." She lowered her voice, "Stop talking like that. My husband's right here."
Vinay's ears perked up hearing this and he sat up straighter.
Ravi replied, confused, "Ma'am, is this a bad time? Would you like me to call you back later?"
She giggled, "No that's okay. He knows. So where are we meeting?"
Ravi cleared his throat, "Ma'am I'm extremely flattered, but I already have a girlfriend."
She smiled, "That's okay. I already have a husband too."
"Well, in that case, since we are mutually cheating, how old are you?"
Bindiya frowned, "Why does that matter?"
Ravi continued, "I'm sorry. Never ask a woman her age. My mother always tells me that."
Bindiya scowled and she whispered into the phone, "Tell me this. How old are you?!"
Ravi smiled, "I'm sixteen, ma'am. This is my first day at the job...I really didn't know all the perks that came with it."
Bindiya's eyes widened, "Okaaay. Right. I'll talk to you later."
Ravi continued, "Ma'am. Don't hang up. I can't get you out of my mind."
Bindiya pulled the phone away from her ear and looked at it, incredulous, "This is the first time you are talking to me."
Ravi smiled, "And I'm already in love with you."
Bindiya glared at the phone, "You're crazy."
"Crazy in love with you. What's your name?"
"Right. I'll meet you then." Slamming the phone down, she glared at it.
"Who was that?"
Bindiya turned around and looked at Vinay innocently, "Oh on the phone?"
Vinay nodded. So it worked.
She smiled and walked past him, "My love guru."
"Your WHAT?!"
She nodded at him patronizingly, "Yes, you heard right. My love guru. He's going to make your brother fall for me."
He looked at her, his mouth wide open, "Who the hell are you?!"
She smiled brightly, "Your wife."
His jaw clenched as he nodded slowly, "Right, I remember that. I thought maybe you had forgotten. It would explain why you are acting like a maniac."
She continued calmly, "Well I wouldn't need a love guru if somebody kept his promise of helping me."
He looked at her at as if she'd grown another head, "Me?"
She snapped, "No. My other husband."
"You're actually serious, aren't you?"
"Like a terminal disease."
He shook his head, "You're crazy."
"Fine. I'll meet Ravi," she smiled slowly.
"Who the hell is he? No, wait, I don't want to know. This is blackmail."
"Whatever you want to call it. I prefer 'love mission.'"
I'm getting a little tired of their bantering so the next part will be 'Day 1' of their mission.
