Okay everyone I wanted to make another comparison of the show to a movie. If anyone has seen Dil Ka Rishta with Ash and Arjun Rampal then you will know where I am going with this. For those of you who have not seen it I will summarize what I mean.
In the movie Ash is a teacher and Arjun Rampal is a rich business man. He falls in love with Ash and to get close to her he involves himself in her schools annual show. The only condition is that Ash has to dance for the show and she does. After the show Arjun goes to tell her that he loves her and he shocked when she does not love him too. She is already in love with someone else. Of course Arjun is devastated. He becomes enraged and starts to drink and then he follows Ash every where and he even tries to get her be with him--telling her that he is rich and has more to offer him. eventually Ash marries the other guy and they have a child. And still Arjun is after her. Then one night after a long night of drinking and partying with a friend Arjun comes upon Ash's husband whose motorcycle has broken down. Arjun gives him a lift and they come to know each other. This fuels Arjun to want to be Ash even more and he harasses her even more. Then one night Arjun and Ash's car have an accident. After the accident Ash's husband dies and Ash looses her memory. And the friend that was in Arjun's car dies too. While in the hospital Ash can't remember anything and Arjun tells her that the child is his and the girl that dies (Arjun's friend). Ash's mom is appauled by this, but lets it go. Arjun tells Ash that he will help her get better and he moves with her to South Africa. There Arjun keeps up the charade that he is the baby's father and he tries to get Ash to be happy. But Arjun is troubled and Ash's mother does not help--she keeps telling Arjun that what he is doing is wrong. Finally Ash does fall in love with Arjun. He cannot handle this and he shuns her. Then after sometime of doing this Ash comes to find out that the baby is hers and that Arjun was playing a game. Ash tries to run away, but Arjun follows her to explain things. When he does explain he gives her the choice of leaving or starting a new life with him. And of course she chooses him. The end.
So here is the comparison I came up with:
Prem is like Arjun in almost every way. He is obssessed with Suman and he can't stay away from her. He is also drinking--the scene with Irfan at the bar. And he has the friend--Irfan--like Arjun has his friend Anita. He is going to go back to the US--as Arjun went to South Africa.
Suman is like Ash--although she did fall in love with Rajeev before they got married she will soon. She is innocent and very naieve like Ash. And she will most likely have a child--we hope--with Rajeev.
Rajeev is like Ash's husband--he was utterly devoted to Ash in the movie. And he dies in the movie--we hope that Rajeev will not die, but the omen is there that he will die in 6 months time.
So maybe the show may take something of a turn like the movie. Prem will be the cause of Rajeev's death and maybe Sumanw ill either loose her memory or be injured enough that only Prem can help her. And maybe she will come to marry him in the end. Who knows.
