Everyone can analyse the Modis or add to these.
Kokila is very domineering and expects everyone to abide by her rules.
Hetal prefer to be a lady of liesure and refuses to or cannot distinguish right from wrong. She is unable to support the truth.
Baa is the eldest modi so she should not allow Kokila to be such a big bully. She has given kokila too much freedom. Baa is the most guilty of the Modis.
Jigar is very nice for his own good,.
Ahem is arrogant, rude and a ignorant fool.
Rashi is dishonest , stealing the modis money for Urmila. She is not a bad person and is not evil.

Parag ans Chirag are just there for decoration and earning money.
The children have more sense than all the Modis put together.
Kinjal an ex Modi is strong and can fight her own battles but she has no say in what goes on in her maternal home.

Hearing Hetal talking to baa it seems that Hetal and koki made a compromise despite their differences in order to make the home life work, but all I see is Hetal thought it better if koki runs the home in order to live in peace. As badi bahu she handed the responsibilities to choti bahu, so what compromise did koki do since it seems that Hetal gave running the house on a plate to koki. Hetal definitely resents koki I felt in that conversation with baa. Seems like baa and Hetal just let koki do what she wants to keep the peace, if anything they let her get too big for her boots. Koki does remind me of rashi in some ways, they have a need to feel important where as Hetal and gopi are don't have the urge to be in the spot light.

From what Baa said during the Parag-Koki anniversary fiasco and what Hetal said now, it seems that Koki took over the reins of the house and Baa and Hetal let her do it because they both wanted to avoid the confrontation.

Between Hetal and Kokila, Kokila is surely better suited to manage the house. Hetal is a walkover at best and ignorant at worst when it comes to making others do anything in and around the house.
If Rashi was able to make Gopi suffer more than a year, it was because Hetal could never see how spiteful Rashi was and how insolent when it came to respecting others which included her husband Jigar.

Hetal certainly has an animosity about Koki taking over the reins of the house. Whatever she may say out aloud, her bitterness was obvious during the batwara track. But Hetal is too suppliant to do anything about it.

Kokila does respect Hetal but she also harbors the bitterness that she has to work and prove herself to be counted in. Her resentment according to Baa was that Parag was never able to make anything out of himself. I feel for this woman.. Proud she may be but she has self respect that Parag and Baa and Hetal do not understand or do not want to give her credit for.

Imagine someone as self sufficient and independent as Kokila.. She has always fought for herself according to her mother first because she was black and had to endure a lot about it while her other siblings were fair. Then she comes home to the Modis, as the DIL of her mother's dearest friend and finds that she is dependent on not her husband but her BIL for her food and stay. It would have been demeaning and hurtful to say that least.

I think Baa let Kokila rule over because she was guilty of the above said fact. Baa is a sensible woman. She chose family unity over the confrontation about share of responsibilities. Until the Bahus came into the picture it fitted this family perfectly. She had an elder bahu who was non confrontational. The younger bahu ran the house like a disciplined military camp.

Kokila got a sense of pride from running the house. Hetal was able to sit back and enjoy being around as long as she did not interfere. Baa ensured peace if and when any small fights broke.

It was a very brittle peace if we come to that. Each one, Baa, Hetal and Koki had their own reasons for doing what they did. All three justified it too somehow to themselves.
