Was it instinct and a gut feel for Ahem when the bride sat next to him?
Did he sense that it could only be THE one person - Gopi?
But how could it be possible? This was the dilemma he faced.
His mind flashed back to when Gopi took her seat next to him in the last wedding. The feeling confirmed what he had thought, but without seeing he could not assure himself fully.
When he saw Vidya standing on the side this dilemma became a complex puzzle. Recognition dawned in him not only of his encounter with her but of how she could be linked with the bride and himself.
Ahem kept his cards close to his chest whilst he looked on at his mother. She believed that she was encouraging him along to heed her ask, but it was Ahem's thin string of hope that things are going to turn to his advantage.
When the obligatory hits the fan he aims to keep his true feelings locked up in his heart yet he was visibly relieved he was married once again to his Gopi.
