Been reading all the stuff on forum about Gia's exit and about the campaign to bring her back. I find Gia very adorable in SNS - a great actress and an even greater charmer.
But that's not the real issue here. People, Gopi was a victim of abuse - no two ways about that. But we don't know if the same is true for Gia. Let's not try to confuse between Gopi and Gia.
Pls give me a moment to bring up my point - by working on JDJ, what Gia was essentially trying to do was 'moonlighting'. That's perfectly ok as long as her primary employer (SP) agrees and approves.
I work for a software research org and AM NOT A SLAVE of my company. But if I decide to take up any other job (on my weekends or outside my work hours), I need my company's permission. I can go play cricket, dance on some show or publish a cooking guide - my company won't object. But they won't allow me to even sweep the floor of a rival research company. And THAT'S NOT EXPLOITATION or SLAVARY.
Same holds good for Gia. I personally think she made an informed choice or missed something written in fineprint. Maybe, she was treated unfairly, maybe not - no one knows for sure except the 2 parties involved.
Great if she can come back - I would love to see her again in SNS - and let's fight for that. But let's not get too carried away and say that this is a fight against explitation - it is NOT.
It's a fight to get a much loved actress back to playing a much loved character. And I am not saying that this is not important. Just my 2 cents on the topic...
