Relieved, happy and proud were how Ahem felt. He was counting his blessings - he finally talked to his wife, asked for her forgiveness, complimented her, praised her and was proud of her upholding the Modi name.
Ahem's vision altered as the song progressed. He eventually could only see Gopi. He was oblivious to Anita's presence and participation.
After the singing, when their eyes met as she tried to approach Ahem, he too could not stop himself from wanting to talk to her too. When she hesitated he was resolved to take the first step but was intervened with somebody calling Gopi away. Eventually when she did approach him, she brought a glass of water to ease his irritated throat, he held his look of her while he drank it, answered her caring question and apologised to her. Her letting this be reflected her big heartedness which too was another blessing he counted. He went on to thank her for making his mum happy, implying to her that he too was happy too - happy that he finally talked to her and happy to have her back with her smile, twinkling eyes and happy to hear her sweet voice.
Ahem still could not tell her that he was proud of her himself or that she moved him inside with her words of love yet he shown this in the words he uttered and his warmth of love for her was seen on his face. There were moments when it felt that he was restraining himself from touching or hugging her. His walk back with her to their seats was not to be missed as they did so side by side and sat in their seats as one.
His feeling of elation was verbalised to his mum, only for her to proudly confirm she had immense faith in her Gopi vahu. This felt like Ahem thanking his mum for bringing Gopi into his life and making her his wife as when he looked on at her he considered himself to be lucky to have Gopi.
The stress and strain of the past few days has ended spectacularly with Gopi winning and Anita growing more green with envy, and Ahem falling in love all over again with his wife.
Ahem's restraint was wearing. What will he do or say next when he gets to be alone with his wife?
