Part 2

Everything the Modi family did was together; they all flew to Mumbai from Rajkot. The entire family, including both the Dada's, both Dadi's Kaka, Kaki, Dad, Mom, Abhishek Bhai and Goham's daughter Radhika were there to cheer Vishal. Vishal looked ravishing in his graduation robe. The baby had finally grown up. Vishal like his name had "Vishal" meaning great tenacity for perseverance. It was against all odds that he had pursued his dream. The family's was against him doing bachelors in phycology. ' "We are a business family and eventually you will have to join the family business ---- etc etc etc". All logic fell on deaf ears. So the family relented and let him pursue his passion.

Mrs Ahuja was nowhere to be seen that morning. Vishal tried to call her on her cell, but she was did not reply. The graduation ceremony was almost over. He hoped that she would arrive before the graduation lunch was over. "Calm down Vishal, what's the big deal, we will meet her some other time." Vishal's mom reprimanded him. "Oh mom she is my inspiration. I really want you and the family to meet her."

Finally he spotted her during lunch. She was surrounded by a group of students. "Thank you mam" was the call of the day. She had something special to say for each of her students. She made them feel special. Vishal broke the party and wanted her to himself. "Mrs Ahuja you have to meet my family. I made sure my entire family came for my graduation and to meet you".

Kokila spotted her first walking towards them with Vishal. She was wearing a collared sari blouse with three quarter sleeves. She draped a printed light blue cotton sari with the pallu was neatly pleated on her shoulders. Her hair was buned and one could spot many strains of grey hair. A mangalsutra and simple studs were the only jewelry that she adorned. The rimless glasses gave a look of authority. Her smile was heartwarming and contagious. She exuded elegance. Kokila was stunned. She was very alert even at the age of seventy. How could two people look so much like each other? Or was she her? But if she were her how could it be. One was an irresponsible brat and this one as per Vishal an inspiration to her students and a responsible citizen.

Kokila did not have to wait too long for her doubts to be cleared. Mrs Ahuja folded her hands and greeted the family. "Jai Shree Khrishna Kokila Aunty" she said. Yes this is her. What followed next was an awkward silence. Vishal was exhilarated, "Mrs Ahuja, you never told me you know my family, why did you never tell me before?" "Vishal, the dean wanted to meet you urgently. Take your brother and sister with you and show them our new wing too. We have worked hard to construct the new wing, get their feedback too. I will tell you how I know your family after your meeting with the dean"

Gopi was frozen, she wanted to go ahead and greet her sister. Rashi ben ' Finally I see her after 26 years. She wanted to ask a million questions.

Rashi wished each and every one individually. Her greetings were reciprocated by a callous nod of the head by everyone except for Gopi who went ahead and hugged her sister. They let go after what seemed an eternity to Ahem and his entire family. Next she addressed Jigar and his wife Prerna. Jigar Ji, Prerna Ji, Vishal is a wonderful boy. He adores both of you. He is a bright boy and will go very far in life. I am sure you are both very proud of him." Jigar was stunned from words and Prerna who realized this was the "Rashi" her husband's ex-wife, only muttered a non-committal "Thank you"

"Hetal Aunty, Kokila Aunty ' I have caused a lot of miseries to your family. I cannot undo that, all I ask is one chance to explain myself. Can you please grant me just one chance?" The sincerity in her voice did not go unnoticed by Kokila. Kokila got a nod of approval from Hetal Bhabi and Prerna too.

"Rashi for the sake of Vishal we want to give you one chance." Kokila said.
