Gopi was his mother's choice.

Mother believed in gopi.

Gopi has admirable virtues.

A feeling of physical attraction has also started.

She is his family.

He loves to be dependent on her.

After seeing Anita-

He might experience

His disappointment.

His betrayal.

His callousness.

His longings.

His helplessness.

These are bound to confuse ahem. The result being, he'll start moving away from gopi, which will confuse and hurt her. When she knows about Anita's return.she is going to shattered,because of her state of mind at that time. Ahem will not deal with these situations at all-as we have seen in the accidental kiss,romantic dream,of course holi,baa's request for a grand child and so on.

Now gopi might decide to leave ahem and may also do so. Then ahem might go after her, hold her hand tight (which will be open for any number of interpretations) she will either give a sad smile or blush(which will be again open for many interpretations) and follow him. Everybody will have to forget about this track too like all the kalakaris.

Again eye locks will be there to pacify us for some time.

Truly Ahem was in his full form protective nature..on the steps he shaded her immediately from the crowd - remembering how he let her go as he fought the goons on Rashis kidnap and then she was injured..

He was happy to help and guide her through her fear of never being on an escalator...like he gave her strength to face the class after the cheating drama and taught her through and after the education track.

and now here he is..unexpectedly standing right infront of his past having left his present in the car...and his reaction we will only know tomorrow :)
