Hi everyone 😃 I had the idea for this OS for a long time now and today I deceided that it was finally time to write it down. This is a RaJi and GoHem OS so I hope there is something in it for everyone.

So please enjoy!!!

OS: The day of first loves and dances

Quite a long time ago, before Jigar and Ahem were married and even long before a marriage was considered for them, the Modi family visited a function at a friend's house. I say the Modi family but only Hetal, Chirag and the two boys went there. Kinjal had fallen ill the day before and Kokila and Baa had stayed back to look after her. Paragh was as usual on one of his poets meetings so only those four went to the party.

Jigar was really excited about the function. It was the first big function he was going to be allowed to walk around freely in. Normally he would have to stay near one of the elder family members but not today. His bhai Ahem, who was used to doing that at functions on the other hand wasn't that hyper. On his mind was the worry that his little brother would follow him around everywhere and that he would need to look after him all the time, giving him no time to enjoy the party himself. Hetal, his kaki, had mentioned something like this to him and his mother had also asked him to look after Jigar. So it came that an over excited Jigar made his entrance with a slightly gloomy looking Ahem and his parents, who were enjoying the excitement of their child very much. As soon as they had greeted the host of the party Jigar pulled on Ahem's hand to get him to move away from his parents. With a heavy sigh Ahem did him the favour.

One hour later Jigar had managed to steal the last thread of patience away from Ahem. He had pulled his big brother all over the place. First going to the buffet, and then pulling him towards the back of the hall, then to the musicians. Not once did he let his brother take the time to have a decent conversation with one of his friends. No every time Ahem talked more than a minute with anyone Jigar would start complaining until Ahem took his leave from his friend and gave his full attention back to his little brother. This scene had repeated four times already but this time Ahem had enough. He just had started to speak with one of his best friends, who he hadn't seen for awhile and Jigar was going at it again. "Bhai come on I want to go over there. Bhai listen. Bhai" Jigar was whining. "Stop it Jigar!" Ahem shouted at him. "I want to talk to Raj now so stop your whining and be patient. If you don't want to wait then go on by yourself." Jigar was taking back by those harsh words. He let his chin sink onto his chest and tried his hardest to fight back the tears, who wanted to well up in his eyes. "Fine!" he said sullenly spinning around and running away from Ahem and Raj.

'Bhai is mean' Jigar thought while he ran towards the entrance of the hall 'There was no need to be so harsh.' A tear fell from his eyes but Jigar rubbed it quickly away, because he didn't want to look like a small cry baby, now that he was old enough to walk around freely. Just as he took a deep breath to calm down and go back to enjoying this party this breath was knocked out of him again. There right in front of him was the cutest little girl he had ever seen and right in that moment he was sure that there was no cuter girl in the world or would ever be. She wore a cute pink dress and her arms were decorated with beautiful bangles. In a moment her sight has knocked all thoughts or worries out of Jigar's head. He didn't see anything beside her and he didn't care about what his brother had done any longer, only she mattered.

He only snapped out of it as someone knocked in to him nearly sending him to the floor. Angry he looked around but couldn't make out who it was that knocked him over. Looking back towards the girl, anxious that she might have vanished like a dream, he saw her standing still on the same spot. She stood next to a couple, which looked a little older than his own parents. He also noticed a tall young man, who was even older than his bhai, standing close to them. In his arms he carried another girl, who wore a pretty green dress but seemed very shy. His dream girl on the other hand seemed to be full of life. She smiled the whole time and seemed to speak nonstop. Her excitement was catching on to him as well. Feeling bold he stepped forward. "Hello" he greeted her nervously. A little startled the girl spun around and looked at him with big eyes for a second or two without saying anything. For Jigar this time felt like eons going by but finally her mouth spread into a wide smile again and she said "Hello" to him too. Relieve spread within him and he was just going to asked her, what her name was, when he caught the look of the tall young man next to her. He seemed to be angry with Jigar and glared down on him. Shocked and frightened Jigar stepped back, tripped and fell on his bum. Embarrassment and shocked made Jigar freeze in this position.

He felt humiliated and couldn't muster up the courage to look up again. But then a hand came into his view. Slowly he traced his way over the arm with jingling bangles to the shoulder and face of his dream girl, who smiled down at him. "Are you okay?" she asked him but then didn't give him the time to answer "I am Rashi and that glaring gloomy guy there is my cousin Milind and the little girl is his sister Gopi. Sorry did he scare you? He does that all the time, you know? I mean starring angrily at people, who talk to me or Gopi." "Rashi!" came an annoyed shout from Milind while Gopi just hid her face against his chest and giggled. Rashi however didn't take any notice and went on like there had been no interruption. "I think that is his way of protecting us. Say what is your name? Why are you not taking my hand? Come on up on your feed again." A little flustered but amused Jigar took her warm hand in his and let her help him get up. "My name is Jigar." He said quickly before she could start her nonstop talking again. Adding "Nice to meet you" shyly while looking at Rashi and her cousins. Rashi laughed and said nice to meet you to but Milind just stared down at him and then gave him a nod. However his little sister smiled cutely down at Jigar and replied "N-Nice to meet you, too" in a quiet voice and then hid her face again. 'Cute' Jigar thought but then his concentration was taken again by his little dream girl.

Rashi was just looking the other way, actually standing on her tiptoes to try and see what was happening on the little stage on the left side of the hall. Being so observed she finally stopped her talking for a minute but that left the other three in an awkward kind of silence. The couple had moved away already and so the children were left on their own devises. Feeling uncomfortable Jigar decided to ease the tension by asking Milind a few questions. "Are you coming from far away?" he asked nervously quickly going into explanation of why he asked that question, when Milind just went on staring down at them. "I-I mean I haven't seen you at any function before .. so-so I was wondering, if-if.." but from there he couldn't go on and so he just let his head slam down and looked at his feet. "I and my sister are not living in this town but Rashi is living here with her parents. Mama and Mami couldn't come today so our parents took Rashi along with us." he heard the older boy say after a short pause. "Oh okay" Jigar said after his head had snapped up again and he had looked at Milind with a mixture of amazement and shock. That made Milind chuckle and Gopi laugh. Just then Rashi came back to them and pulled on Milind's free hand. "Milind bhai lets go to the stage! I can't see what is happening from here. Come on lets go" she was demanding but her bhai didn't move an inch no matter how hard she tried to make him move. "No Rashi. Gopi is hungry. So I will take her to the buffet first but if you want to you can go by yourself. You are old enough to do that now. But behave yourself, will you?" Milind said decidedly. "But I don't want to go alone! You can eat a little later, can't you Gopi?" Rashi said and looked at her baby cousin. Gopi was nodding her head to do her beloved cousin the favour but Milind shook his head and said "Nice try Rashi." Wittering a chance to speak to Rashi some more away from her scary cousin Jigar blurted out "I can go with you, if you want" while colouring a deep red. This was followed by a short silence and then a happy squeal by Rashi. Milind raised an eyebrow but deciding that the little boy wasn't dangerous he gave a small nod of approval and so the four separated.

Rashi took Jigar's hand and pulled him in the direction of the stage. She laughed and thanked him for coming with her. "I wouldn't have gone alone, you know? I don't know most of the people here and I was afraid that I wouldn't find my Kaka, Kaki or Milind bhai anymore." she was saying in her nonstop talking way "Thank you so much for helping me Jigar. I know when you are with me nothing going to happen, right?" This made Jigar feel really proud and mature. She trusted him to keep her save and thought that he was a big boy already. With a big smile on his face he nodded to yes. This made Rashi pause in her tracks, making him in turn run into her. "Sorry" he uttered "What happened? Why did you stop?" "No-nothing" Rashi mumbled turning red. 'Gosh he has a super cute smile' she squealed within. "That's a lie. Come on tell me! What is it?" Jigar demanded to know laughing but Rashi wouldn't say and so they went on laughing and teasing each other.

On the other side of the hall Milind and Gopi were just approaching the buffet. Gopi was now walking next to her big brother but still holding on to his hand. She was a shy and tiny girl, who loved her brother very much and always stayed close to him on functions and parties but also at home. Milind on the other hand adored his sister immensely and therefore had no issue of having her around him all the time. Adding to this is the fact that he was the overprotective kind of bhai and therefore more than happy that Gopi stayed close to him. He loved and cherished Rashi too but was aware that she wouldn't like to have him hovering around her all the time. Rashi was a smart girl and could look out for herself and if something bad happened he could be sure that she would come to him straight away and asked for help. So he tried not to be too concerned. "Jigar ji seemed to be a very nice boy" Gopi just remarked to him. Chuckling Milind nodded his head. The little girl was sure to pick up on his thoughts without him uttering a single word.

"What do you want to have Gopi?" he asked her. Gopi smiled and pointed out to him what she wanted. Milind took a plate and served her the food, because Gopi was unable to reach some of it. When she was satisfied with the food he had piled on her plate they went and sat at an empty table in the corner. After awhile they were spotted by a friend of Milind, who dragged him towards his other friends. Milind ordered Gopi to stay where she was and then went with his friend glancing back at his little sister from time to time.

'Bhai said to stay here but I want to have another rotli' she was worrying 'What should I do? I am sure it is okay to quickly run to the buffet and get one and then come back here.' Looking towards her bhai for a moment Gopi decided to take the risk and jumped down from her chair. She quickly turned on her heels and ran towards the buffet but she didn't get far. After a few steps she bumped into an older boy, knocking him down to the floor and then falling onto him. Surprised and shocked she looked up into his face. Ahem who had been wondering around on the search for Jigar had not seen the little girl running towards him and therefore was totally surprised to be knocked of his feet. Grumbling he tried to sat up and looked for the person, who knocked him over. Thereby he set eyes on the most adorable little angel he had ever seen. She wore a pretty dark green dress and her eyes were big round and beautiful. Stunned Ahem was unable to move for a second and the scolding he had wanted to shout was blown out of his head in an instance.

Still shocked Gopi was starring at the handsome boy she had just run over. Tears started to gather in her eyes as she scrambled off of him. "S-s-so-sorry" she sobbed looking down ashamed of herself "I-I-I did-didn't mean to.. I-I didn't lo-look." "It's okay" Ahem said shocked to see her cry and wondering what to say to make her stop. "Are you hurt?" he asked, wondering if that was the reason she cried. "N-no" Gopi replied then thinking horrified that she might have injured him "Are you?!" she nearly screamed at him in terror. "What? No, I'm not." Ahem replied again confused by her intense reaction. This was followed by an awkward silence, which was only disturbed by Gopi's soft sobs. "Stop crying" Ahem ordered frustrated and unable to come up with a better thing to say. He had never been good in soothing others not even Kinjal and Jigar. Ordering had never worked before so he didn't have any hope that it work on such a fragile little angel but to his immense wonder it did. As soon as he voiced the order the angel had stopped her crying. Quickly he searched for his handkerchief and gave it to her to wipe her tears. As she hesitated to take it he pressed it in her hand and then made her wipe her face with it by cupping her tiny hand with his and moving it towards her face. "There that is better" he said after finishing his task.

"I am Ahem and who are you?" he then went on thinking that this was the right thing to do. "G-Gopi. N-nice to meet you" she whispered shyly quickly glancing at his face and then letting her eyes drop to her hands again. "What where you doing?" he then inquired and she timidly replied "Rotli.." but not more. Finding her shyness and delicate aura really endearing he smiled down at her. "You want me to come with you?" he asked gently. On this her head snapped up and she nodded her head once and then whispered "please" while a small smile spread on her lips. Ahem was again spell bound for a second but then took hold of her hand pulled her up. "Then lets go."

'Where the hell is she?' Milind was silently screaming 'I told her not to leave this spot so why isn't she here anymore?' Moving his head from side to side and screening the crowd to find his little sister Milind was walking around the little table. Just as he has half made up his mind to go to the DJ and let her be called out he saw her coming towards him holding hands with an older boy. Immediately his protector instinct kicked in and he glared at the boy, who his baby sis was smiling at so warmly. As soon as they were only a few steps away from him he asked in a stern voice "Where were you Gopi? Didn't I tell you to stay here and wait for you?" Straight away Gopi looked down ashamed and mumbled an apology. She told him that she just wanted to get a rotli. "So why didn't you wait for me to come back and get you one?" he went on asking. "Woh ..I ..I" Gopi stuttered and then the first tear started to spill over.

Ahem, who had stood next to Gopi the whole time glared at Milind now. "There was no need to make her cry" he said. Milind looked at him surprised. "And who are you to interfere between me and my sister? I am worried for her and didn't want her to get lost in the crowd so I am angry that she didn't do as I told her", Milind said with a dangerous undertone. "I am Ahem. I helped Gopi to get the rotli" Ahem replied not in the least impressed with Milind's tries to intimidate him. "Oh did you?" Milind asked sarcastically. "Bhai I am sorry that I didn't listen to you. But you know Ahem ji really helped me. Please don't be angry with him" Gopi said haltingly. Seeing the worry in her eyes Milind couldn't go on and so just nodded agreement. "Go on and finish your food and then we can go and search for Rashi and this Jigar." Milind said roughly making Gopi giggle, who knew how to take this reaction. Ahem was enchanted yet again by her charming laugh but the name Jigar pulled him out of it. "Jigar?" he asked "About this tall? With a blue kurta on and black trousers?" he asked the siblings. "Yes" replied Gopi astonished and Milind nodded his head. "Why?" he asked the little boy. "Well that is my little brother I think. I was searching for him when Gopi .. I mean when I met Gopi" Ahem answered quickly nearly slipping the fact that Gopi run him over. Thankful Gopi glanced at him afterwards with a smile on her lips which made him feel happy. "Then Ahem ji could come with us, when we go and search for them, can't he bhai?" Gopi was saying hopefully and so leaving Milind just the option to agree.

Rashi and Jigar on the other hand where standing right in front of the stage watching the dancers move to the beat of the music. "Wow. They are really good aren't say?" Rashi was just saying. Jigar quickly agreed, knowing that he would have no chance to reply if he didn't use the breaks in which she breathed in. "Oh and that one had a real pretty Sari on. Look and that once bangles look so pretty" Rashi was going on. This made Jigar chuckle again. He and Rashi had become friends really fast and had talked about everything and nothing already. Rashi had told him how much she loved her cousins and that they were like siblings to her. She also told him what a nice and sweet girl Gopi was and then had shown him the bangles she wore, telling him that they were Gopi's but that she had given them to Rashi, because she liked them. She also had told him how much she enjoyed going to school and that Gopi couldn't wait to start school as well. Jigar in turn had told her all about his home as well and about his cousins, who were close as siblings to him as well. In between they had teased each other and had shared their favourite jokes, foods, movies and colours.

As the dancers had just finished their show and the stage was set up for the band Jigar took all his courage together and asked Rashi for a dance. Blushing but smiling from one ear to the other Rashi agreed excitedly. Just then Milind, Gopi and Ahem found them. "Bhai" "Milind bhai" they were saying at the same time. Confused both of them looked at each other and then asked at the same time "That is your bhai?" Gopi was now laughing, which made Rashi look at her sternly. "Don't laugh at me Gopi" "Sorry Rashi bhen but that was funny, don't you think?" Well Rashi thought so too and started laughing as well. Ahem took over the task to explain to Rashi and Jigar how he had met Gopi and Milind. After the misunderstanding and confusion was cleared up the young man thought it was time to find his parents again. "Gopi, Rashi say good bye to the boys and let us find Mum and Dad." "B-But Milind bhai I wanted to dance at least one dance with Jigar. He asked me and I said yes so I can't just not dance with him now" Rashi started to whine immediately. "Come on please Milind bhai just one dance, just one!!" she begged and made huge puppy eyes on him. Sighing Milind gave up and agreed "But just one." Rashi clapped her hands happy and then turned on Ahem and Gopi, who were standing next to each other. "You two can dance with each other too. Then you won't have to stand around and wait for us. Oh that is a great idea. Come on that will be fun. Say yes" she pressured them making Ahem and Gopi embarrassed. For that however Rashi didn't care and so she went on forcing them to agree, which they did in the end.

And that is how it came that Jigar and Ahem Modi fell in love with their later wives at a function while dancing together for the first time under the watchful eyes of Milind Patel, Gopi's big brother. Many things haven't happened at this time. Gopi was still no orphan and her cousin Rashi and her were still the best of friends. The dark shadow, which would cause them so much pain and unhappiness, had still not taken hold of them and so in their childish innocents they all lost their hearts for the first time. Oh how I wished the time could have stopped that minute and could keep them there in this happy place for ever. But time does not stop for anyone and so it runs on taking memories with it and making those four forget about their first meeting until time finds it fit to remind themof it. But that is another story.
