Ahem was busy working on his project late night ...It was around 3 a.m. in the night of Ist April 2011, April Fool's Day. He was feeling little drowsy because of the hard work he had been doing since last one week. He needed to do his best as everything in his career depended on this. So day and night he had researched on the topic to collect and use the best information and apply it in his project. Once he submitted his project and passed out of ICE, he would be able to start his career on a good note he believed.
Ahem had been so engrossed in his files and papers that he didn't realize that it was so late and he had even missed having his dinner being a workaholic he was . His concentration was so superb that when he got involved into something, time flew by like anything. But his mind had stopped thinking straight after working for ten hours now at a stretch so he decided why not take a break.
He opened his facebook account to see who was online with whom he could chat. Though by nature he was reserve but he loved to make pranks and tease his friends to de-stress himself once in a while. He saw his friend Jigar online. They had been friends since schooldays. And whenever he got time, he still used to keep track on his life and pull his legs. Jigar was doing his masters in aeronautics and had his exams next week.
He pinged him,"How are you doing dude? Where have you eloped? Found another girl again?:D"
He waited for a response while surfing for some current news and latest movie shows happening in the city. He saw a screen pop up in front of him with the message,"Hi! I am fine Ahem! How are you? I was here only but it seems you were trying to find one girl for yourself and failed miserably and pinged me to give you sompany...hunh :D"
"What buddy! You are trying to get on me only at this hour of the night! " Ahem wrote.
"It was you who started dude. I just replied to it. Anyways, I am having finals next week so just busy in that. What about you? Pinged Jigar.
"Oh me...I was just preparing my thesis and was tired so thought to take a break!" replied Ahem.
"Great! So as boring as you are, you could find no one but me to help you out in your boredom right!" messaged Jigar.
"Here you got it started again. You'll never improve. You think you are so handsome that girls will drool over you and not me! I am not like you who'll go hunting after each and every girl present around. I have more important works to do but you seem to be as jobless as you ever were! Ahem wrote.
"Okai you win I lose! Happy!" pinged Jigar.
"Now you knew that you would lose in the end so why took so much trouble. :D . Anyhow when are you planning to come to Bangalore? I am thinking of having a reunion and will go for the latest movie shows and have lots of fun. You can bring your girlfriend also alongwith you if you want. I don't mind as everyone is doing that this time. "
"Okai I'll do that!" replied Jigar.
"Just okai! I thought you'll be thrilled with it. I remember last time you had created such a ruckus when we decided to meet alone, no gfs. What happened? Is everything fine between you and Rashi. For I remember how badly you wanted to bring her last time and have... " asked Ahem.
"I am sorry! I am not Jigar. I am his cousin Gopi. I had to prepare a seminar so I had asked bhai to use his laptop as mine had some problem. I was almost done when saw your message and thought why not reply and have some fun as bhai had forgotten to close his account. Since its April Fool's Day. Sorry to intrude!" popped up the message.
"What! You are not Jigar? You think of yourself to be a big prankster! You brainless dumb girl! Don't you know that sneaking into other's account is a bad thing. You should not do that ever again you stupid girl. Now close the account and go and sleep! " retorted Ahem.
Thank God I didn't say much and didn't make a fool of myself today, Ahem thought.
While at the other end, Gopi was almost on the verge of tears seeing the rebuke on the screen in front of her.
"Okai I am sorry. I will be going. I just replied without giving it a second thought. I am so sorry again for this joke. Bye, goodnight!" she messaged and logged off.
Whereas Ahem had cooled down after blasting her and saw Jigar going offline. Oh God! I lost my cool again and hurt that girl. It was just a joke but how bad I can get at being joked at! Now why to repent? I should not have said all those things to her. Now how to say sorry to her. For something was there in the girl that he felt so close and attracted to. Her humour though angered his ego at first, had been pleasing he realized now. He wanted to talk to her now when she was gone. But how? It was 5 o' clock in the morning and about time to sleep for a couple of hours before getting ready to go to the college.
Maybe I'll ask Jigar about her and he'll help me but no he'll tease me to death, so no point. I think I should sleep now and I'll see that what can be done about it in the evening, muttered Ahem.
