my story will be focuisng more on gopi ahem relationship... i think they need more focus then anything else...
the characters are in their current state...
i.e gohem being just friends and comfortable with each other...
jigar still hasnt completely forgiven rashi...
rashi hasnt changed but atleast after coming back she hasnt created any blunder...
kokila is just the same over obsessed with her son.. and acts grumpy these days...
hetal is back with her happy bunny days...
chirag and parag... just the same old fellows..
Time for some hidden truths to come out...
ch 1
One day morning mm's door bell rings. kokila orders meethi to open door... jeetubhai enters modi bhavan.
he greets kokila and hetal... parag and chirag had just finished their breakfast and joins them... jeetubhai greets all...and soon gopi also enters greets her mama she is very excited to see him after long time.
kokila offer jeetubhai to have breakfast and tea but he refuses, he said "na na kokilaben i already had at home i have come here for a purpose. I wanted to tell you all about something" hearing him everyone asks him
to have a sit and relax. He made himself comfortable and spoke "paragbhai kokila ben i wanted to tell you something important"... everyone is looking at each other confused, he continued "tomorrow is gopi's
parent's death anniversary..." everyone is shell shocked to hear this... "till this date i hadnt informed gopi about this day since she was very young and would not be able to come out of her pain, last year we had
dhaval and kinjal's wedding ceremony so i didnt inform her... but now when i see my niece getting comfortable in this house and the environment i was wondering with your permission if she can join me in the pooja that
i would like to do for her's parents at the temple."
"I am sorry for putting you all in an awkward position but i think in this world we dont need to differentiate between son and daughter and since she was thier only child it wont do any harm of she participates."
Enitre Modi house came to a standstill, on gopi's birtday last year they were told by urmila that it was her parents death anniversary so she never celebrated her birthday...
who was telling the truth? no one needed to guess
gopi was so shocked to hear this she couldnt believe what she heard... ahem and jigar had also entered ther hall around the time when jeetu bhai was speaking...
rashi was standing at a distance and heard all this see felt as if someone pulled the ground beneath her feet... how did her dad suddenly enter modi house and speak all this..
Gopi sanked in the sofa with tears in her eyes and was unconsolable... hetal was about to reach her, but seeing gopi ahem went immediately next to her and asked her to calm down...
kokila and ahem gave furious glares to rashi... on seeing everyone's confused face jeetubhai said"kokilaben is something wrong have i offended anyone by coming here i am sorry to cause you all any
trouble with this news"
kokila spoke "na na jeetubhai please dont say that we were in no way ofended, but i would like to tell you something, last year on gopi's birthday urmilaben had told us that her parents death anniversary and
birthday were on same day and thats why your family never celebrated gopi vahu's b'day and now you gave us this news so are confused"
jeetubhai felt so ashamed of her wife's deed for ruining gopi's b'day his wife had gone to this extend... he shook his head miserably "i am very sorry kokilaben i did not know my wife could step so low.
i knew she didnt like gopi because she was far better than her own daughter but that doesnt mean she should have played with her feelings in this manner... i have no words to say on hearing this... "
he folded his hands and said "all i can say is i am sorry for this act of hers... " and looked down... hetal and parag came forward to comfort him...
rashi standing far away was trembling with fear seeing ahem and kokila she knew she had landed in a big fix this time... gopi looked at her with feelings how could you do this to me rashiben i loved you
and cared for you all my life and you lied to me about my parents death... how could you... how could you...
kokila turned towards rashi and screamed" how could you do this rashi... you lied to gopi vahu abt her parents death... you are disgusting... how can do this to your own sister who cares for you so much...
i cant even imagine you and your mom can step so low... are you guys even human... i cant even think how much damage you guys must have done to her till now..."
ahem was boiling with anger as if he would kill rashi there and there...
seeing all this baa said "what has been done is done but now lets look forward for tomorrow, i have a suggestion to make why dont we keep this pooja at our home, and its my wish that ahem and gopi sit for this
pooja and perform the rituals..."
hetal, parag, and chirag immediately gave their yes and said this was the best thing to do... kokila was unable to decide anything... jeetubhai said "baa i appreciate your feelings and happy to know how much you care about my niece... but how is this poosible i will do pooja at temple and gopi and jamaiji can attend ... you will have to take unnecessary trouble... "
finally ahem spoke" mamaji please dont worry about all this and you just mentioned before that in todays time we shuldnt diiferentiate between son and daughter i am like your son too... dont you consider me as your son...?"
"its not that jamaji but..." said jeetubhai...
ahem cut jeetubhai "so why cant we perform the pooja here gopi and myself we do this pooja and thats decided..." gopi was so shocked she just stared at him and thanked him a million times in her heart
jeetubhai had tears in his eyes too... kokila also agreed finally " jeetubhai dont worry whatever baa and ahem said is right we will do the pooja here tomorrow motabhabhi and myself will arrange everything after talking to panditji... we will inform you about the time"
jeetubhai finally turned towards gopi and apologetically "i am sorry gopibeta about your mami... she shouldnt have done this" gopi said " please dont be sorry she must have misunderstood the dates... "
gopi is still covering up her mami and rashi to avoid them from being cornered...
jeetubhai leaves and tells kokila that he will be waiting for thier call...
shell shocked modis turn to work... everyone avoids rashi who is crying in a corner... jigar also moves back he was deeply hurt too... hetal tells kokila to call panditji and ask about the arrangements and leaves for kitchen...
no one spoke to rashi sometimes silent treatment is the best medicine that can be given...
ahem takes gopi to thier room and ask her to get freshen up... in their room gopi sits on the chair lost in her thoughts and ahem gets ready for office he felt very bad for her and thinks abt something..
he did not want to talk abt rashi as it would cause more pain to gopi...
he comes to gopi and calls her she did not hear him... he called twice but no response... he sat next to her and tapped on her shoulder, gopi came to her senses and looked into his eyes.. he said "gopi i was thinking
if you have any picture of your parents with you... i can get it framed and we can put it in the pooja tomorrow... " his words were so soothing that she had tears in hers eyes again...
she was so happy to hear this she smiled and said "ji hai, ek minute main lati houn..." she stood up and walked up to the cupboard opened her small bundle that she had brought with her during her marriage...
she placed the bundle on the table opened it and after shuffling some stuff she took out a photo of her parents... she was so touched by his gesture... she handed over the picture to ahem
ahem looked the picture with respect and said i will get it framed today... "ahemji i cant thankyou enough for this... you were so thoughtful... i am very touched... " she took a long pause
and said " i cant imagine mamiji nad rashiben could do this... " ahem cut her there and said "gopi i dont want you to think abt all this right now we will talk later, instead why dont you help mom and kaki and
make arraengments for tomorrow's pooja... i am also leaving for office and will be back early... please dont worry... "
just then meethi called for gopi and she left the room...
ahem was about to leave when he saw that bundle ... gopi had left it open... he went over to look what was inside... first he saw a cutting of local newspaper it had his own picture with an article he gave a shy smile to see that gopi was still carrying it with her, nothing was needed for him to believe that his wife loved him so much, next he came across an old doll and thought must be gopi's when she was young...
he also came across something and opened to read he tried to recollect he had read this before too, that moment he heard someone coming he quickly kept that paper in his pocket, closed the bundle and kept it back in the cupboard.
it was rashi who was here to speak to gopi... as she came she saw ahem standing there... seeing her ahem got furious... rashi looked down and said "ahem jiju i wanted to talk to gopi... please tell me where is she... "
ahem blasted "what another lie you wnat to tell her now rashi... arent you out of ideas... arent you and your mom done torturing her... even after doing all this you still have the guts to speak aren't you ashamed... she loved you and your family more than anything else... and what did you guys give her in return... she must have covered you up number of times when you committed mistakes... do you even know that you would not have come back to this house if gopi hadnt insisted mom and kaki to do so after her accident... she took up the task of getting you and jigar close so that you can resolve your differences... she convinced me too to help you guys... what more could you ask for... " he was so angry if it were his own sister he would have slapped her by now "I know jiju i have not done the right thing... believe me i was
under the influence of my mom... it did not struck me how badly it would affect her feelings i am feeling so ashamed on my deeds... i know no one will forgive me... please jiju try and believe me i am trying my best to change myself, to be a better person, to be a dutiful wife and DIL and a caring sister... " she burst out crying...
he spoke sternly again " look rashi... dont show your crocodile tears to me... and listen to me once and for all i dont know abt others but i will not be able to forgive you... and henceforth if i come across any other nonsense stuff from you... or if any of my family member gets into trouble because of you then... last time you were just thrown out of this house... this time you and your mom will be out of rajkot for ever
and dont underestimate ahem modi... hear me very well... " ahem finished talking and stormed out... rashi stood there trembling...
Ahem and jigar both remained disturbed through out the day... they could not concentrate at work... thing abt the happenings at home..
here hetal and kokila both sprang into action for tomorrow's pooja... baa was also involved in guiding gopi to make arrangements... on calling panditji it was decided that the ritual will be performed at 10.00 am the next day... kokila had informed jeetubhai abt the same... rashi behaved even more soberly with everyone at home... no one spoke to rashi abt that incident any more... ahem had asked his mom and kaki to do so before leaving for work... he didnt want to create more saddness for gopi... (Mr. ahem modi in charge of the situation... !!)
throughout the day rashi was trying to speak to gopi... gopi for the first time replied in simple yes or no and avoided her... and rashi for the first time was genuiely feeling guilty...
ahem came back home early and spoke to his mom and kaki inquiring how the pooja arrangements were going on... he just wanted to get the feel of home atmosphere...
he went up to his room and saw gopi arranging clothes... gopi looked at ahem but couldnt speak anything just greeted him "jai shri krishna, i will get your tea"
ahem replied with a smile " gopi the frame will be ready in a while and peon will get it here in sometime... " gopi smiled back, thanked him and left... he thought probably gopi needs to be left alone for a while...
evening was followed by quite dinner and everyone retired to their rooms early... the photo frame was delivered and gopi was was very happy to see it... ahem felt that end of the day there was atleast something that brought a smile on gopi's face... but why was he getting this relief, he himself couldnt understand...
