The much awaited and anticipated Anniversary scene never happened on SNS, here's my take on it..
This is a special dedication to my friend, Shilpa, who celebrates her wedding anniversary today...

**~~Misplaced Beginnings~~**
Somewhere on a private beach, a table was set for two under a white canopy. The arrangement of the luxurious deep red roses was a stark contrast to the white drapes rustled by the light sea wind. The flame from the torches flickered and illuminated the setup, the only source of light besides the moon. The air was heady with the scent from the roses and the oceanic spritz. Waves lashed against the rocks by the ruins of the old fort gently reminding of this being real. This was where Ahem would finally wish his wife on their second anniversary.
Ahem set his plan in motion for the anniversary. Their first anniversary was eclipsed by Rashi's deceit and cunning coming to light; he never cared for her anyway. Good riddance!! he thought, Rashi's mother drove him up the wall. And to imagine he could have ended marrying her if her mother had her way. He gasped and then heaved a sigh of relief, thanking god for small mercies.
Ahem had been working on plans for their anniversary for a week now. He decided he would be the first one to wish her, at the stroke of midnight if possible or the first thing in the morning. He was a private person and didn't want to create a fuss over it. He wanted something very private for him and his wife, which they would cherish for the rest of their lives. They had been through a lot these past couple of years, ups and downs, highs and lows, battling individually and together.
On the eve of the anniversary, Ahem followed his everyday schedule. He came home the usual time, had his green tea, spent time with Harina, got to work, had dinner and went back to the study to discuss business issues with his Kaka and retired to his room. He did nothing different.
He woke up only to find himself on the bed. He was hoping she would be in the washroom and would come out any minute but was in for a disappointment. Mani knocked on the door, bringing him his green tea. He freshened up, gulped his green tea and ran down for the morning aarti, which was done by the time he made his entry. He didn't see his wife around and was hoping he would see her at breakfast.
His mother who was rushing to Harina informed him that Gopi had left for the temple for a special pooja. His mum had no time for him anymore, she doted on her grandchild and all her time and attention was now marker for her. Harina had been a blessing in disguise for the entire Modi clan. His parents doted on her, Kaka and Kaki pampered her to bits, She was Jigar's little angel, Kinjal and Dhawal adored her , with her schedule so packed with people showering her with love, she barely had the time for her parents.
Gopi was taking private tuitions and preparing for her boards. She had her day charted out. She went straight to the classes after the visit to the temple. Ahem tried to reach her during her break and she was busy with some assignment. He was getting restless now. When he told her he would pick her up after her classes she mentioned a spa appointment. This left Ahem fuming, here he was trying to make their anniversary special and there she was, completely oblivious to the import of the day.
With that ahem got back to work, blocking their anniversary off. When he saw Gopi calling him, his heart missed a beat and he mentally cursing himself for being so high handed. When he answered, Gopi reminded him of the party they RSVP'd for the evening and asked him when she could expect him. He was fuming but held his peace and said he was busy but asked her to go ahead and he would catch up with her at the venue. After that he was indifferent for the rest of the day, blocking all ideas and plans for their anniversary, wondering if their first anniversary set a precursor for the rest to follow.
When Ahem arrived at the venue, he had no clue as to what his behavior towards Gopi would be like. He asked for directions and started treading down the stairs. When he reached the venue he was dumbfounded: what lay in front of his eyes was magical.

He saw her come towards him looking as exquisite as the setting itself.
As she walked towards him, he saw her look like a Greek goddess with the light playing on her. Ahem just couldn't take his eyes off of her. He regained his senses only when Gopi stopped walking. He ran his eyes from head to toe, taking in everything possible and reveling in the beauty of his wife who stood in front of him seeking his approval and enjoying every minute of it.
When she realized Ahem was too stumped to make any move, she walked to him as slowly as she possibly could, without breaking the eye contact. They could just hear the torches crackle and the silent gushing of the waves.
Once she was within reachable distance... Ahem took her in a tight embrace, kissed her forehead, and thanked her for the most awesome surprise after Harina. Gopi, who could hear his heart drum touched, placed her hand over it and whispered "Happy Anniversary Ahemji"!!
