Upon returning from the first night of the Navratri celebrations, Ahem's attitude and behaviour became much more demanding towards Gopi. He felt the attention that he usually gets from her was vapourising as he was stung with jealousy when he saw her taking great care folding the lehenga.
He repaired his jealousy by buying a saree for her. However he used the tactic of gifting a saree to each of the women in the household as a way to show that he also can give presents for her. He gladly took his reward when he lost himself in her smile and delight on receiving his gift.
Whenever he was alone with her he complained either about wanting to sleep, or about looking for things in the cupboard, or not feeling well and not going for the second day of celebrations. The reason for these complaints were summed up in one of his statements where he told her that when it is time to study with him she thinks about all the household chores she has to do. He sounded like an unsatisfied young man who is desperately missing his wife's company and will complain about anything and everything if he has to to get her attention.
His hot and cold temperament is firmly rooted in him wanting her to think, feel and breathe him and only him. Will he be rewarded for what his heart desires?
