Hi everyone,
I found a Times of india article about Ashnoor Kaur (previously Panna in SNS) and her new show and what a fantastic little actress she is proving to be in it (we all knew that already - I miss Panna!), and thought I would share it with you all. Enjoy! 😊

If the initial episodes of the show are anything to go by, Ashnoor Kaur, the little girl who essays the title role in Zee TV's grand historical saga Shobha Somnath Ki , is an extremely promising actor in the making.

Be it her fiesty entry into the show where she defiantly glares into the ferocious Mughal invader Mahmud Ghaznavi's eyes as he marches ahead with his army of plunderers or the sheer aplomb with which she performs the Shiv Taandav announcing that she will grow up one day to be a formidable force to reckon with, the gifted child actor has an arresting screen presence that has your eyes riveted to her through out.

Sources on the sets have only wonderful things to share about this bundle of joy. "Ashnoor or Baby Palak as we fondly call her, is a doll! She warms up to absolutely every member of the crew and is generous with her jhappis (hugs). She can bring a smile to anyone's face." Another source revealed that Shobha is shown to have a pet rabbit called Tuk Tuk in the show ... Ashnoor has taken immensely to this cute furry animal ... and is constantly playing with him and feeding him carrots between the shots.

With her "Tuk Tuk" fixation, she's managed to convert several other actors from the cast of the show including Yash Tonk and Amrita Raichand to "official rabbit lovers"!

Thanks for sharing, we all miss Panna.

I just wonder now that the Panna actress is established in another show, if Gopi will leave the Modi Bhavan to learn after the latest twist or she will stay and Kokila will order she is taught at home, that would certainly tie it with having female tutor that is the new entry to disrupt the RaJi relation.

Hi again,

Found a related TOI article from a few weeks ago. I don't think it has been posted in the forum before so I thought I'd share it here as well. I didn't realise Ashnoor was only 6 years old! Its fantastic to see that she is managing both her acting and school work so well. She really is a remarkable little girl.

I enjoy the media attention: Ashnoor Kaur
Amrita MulchandaniAmrita Mulchandani, TNN | Jun 10, 2011, 11.23am IST
If you are somebody who regularly watch Jhansi Ki Rani on television then you would not have missed the young and talented 'Prachi' in the show. And now she is all geared up to essay the role of Shobha in the TV show Shobha Somnath Ki. Child artist Ashnoor comes across as a naughty, simple and an adorable child. Before we sit down to chat with her, she is busy jumping around the place, hugging people and making faces.

She loves her pets — rabbits and that's the first thing she talks about when we chat with her. "I am excited about this show. But I am sad as my TukTuk's (rabbit) four kids died. They were left in the heat and dry grass," she says.

About her character in the show, she says, "I like the character I am playing in the show. It is fun. But I don't like the costumes. The choli hurts me and I feel irritated. But once they place the pads inside my outfits, I am happy," she says with a smile.

The six-year old actor is able to balance her work and studies also quite well. She says, "It is my vacation time so there is no problem now. But when my school will reopen, I will carry my books to the sets. My mom prepares test papers behind the script sheets and make me study. She also teaches me all the dialogues. I like to study and get good grades," says Ashnoor who is in her third grade. Ashnoor does not want to act after she few years. She says, "Studies will be tough in higher standards so I will have to concentrate on education." Ashnoor admits that though she is not able to attend school regularly , her grades are good. She is a topper in her school.

With adulation and fame on her side, Ashnoor enjoys herself being a known face in school. She says, "My friends in school treat me like a celebrity. They take extra care of me. I am loving all the attention. People on the streets stare at me constantly. At times I like it but sometimes I feel irritated. I also enjoy the media attention."

Ashnoor who is the only child of her parents started acting only after she moved to Mumbai. She was referred by someone for the show Jhansi Ki Rani and the makers liked her. "I love acting today. At the age of 3, I thought I will break the TV and go inside and act. I never thought about acting but it is after my debut show that I started to loving acting. My arents encourage me to act," she says.
