Why can't Aham and Kokila tell Naani about Gopi?

I was thinking on this, is it because Naani is old fashioned and probably didn't do any schooling either, therefore she would not be sympathetic to Aham's way of thinking about Gopi, an an illiterate and his dreams of a wife that is modern and intelligent. Aham would rather produce the DIL that she will like for the while she is at the MM then send her back and get on with his life. Kokila off course is using the situation, of Aham unable to confide in Naani, to bring Gopi close to Aham and she is hoping he will relent and accept Gopi.

So Aham is ashamed of his elitist way of thinking and how this will appear to Naani.

Nafisa, I don't think the story is that well thought out. The CVs like to make the cheap and obvious choices that are easy and lazy.

I wouldn't try to read too much into the story for a deep and underlining meaning. This show is meant to be taken at face value with your brain left at the door.
