I wanted to throw in my 2 cents on Kokila's character as I know of a person who is very close to this character.

People like Kokila r very straight forward and they do not like to beat around the bush. They cannot stand liers, people who muniplate others and peopel who cannot own up their mistakes.

People like Kokila generally have a clear heart and will never go out themselves to harm anyone unless they are provoked or someone close to them is harmed or in harms way.

I find these type of people much better than the ones who are always looking for a short cut, manuplation etc. these type of people r generally very fair every though they may come out a being cold.

I watch this serial only because of Kokila. She is by far the most unique character I have ever seen. I mean yeah we did watch many saas bahu serials before. But in them, usually, if the saas was a good person she resembled Hetal's character and was not given much priority.

Actually, Koki was supposed to be the rival of Gopi. At least thats how she was portrayed in the beginning. But then they changed her into a different, but better person. I think thats how it should remain. Yet, if and only if Ahem accepts and loves Gopi we might see some drastic change in her character. I mean her old bitterness might start showing up again. I am talking about the jealousy and controlling issue.

While Koki is one of my favorites in the show, for me, the jury is still out on her character. She is not very constant. She yells at and humiliates Gopi and Rashi in front of all, and yet when Kinjal makes a big mistake it's hushed up. She sees misunderstandings between Gopi and Aham, and yet does little to resolve them. She needs to cut the apron strings.

i agree with u completely.....Kokila's character is the most loved and unpredictable character of the show...............
she is far more better than other MILs of other shows who are either Complete White (behaving like a puppet to their DILs) or Complete black (wants to tame their DILs by hook or crook..) but Koki is A Grey Character....
she wants to control her DIL but not by hook or crook....she wants her to stand on her own, to take her decisions, and not to get influenced by her evil sis...........

but as @ladydivine mentioned.......we have to see the real color once Aham falls for Gopi, will she be same loving n caring MIL for Gopi then also...or she will turn as Regular Saas.......

but still I loved the character....

Straight and Koki...hmm....it is definitely food for thought...

I do not like Koki...even if 20 years later Aham falls for Gopi by mistake, Koki will spoil the entire thing and Goham will get separated! She is a total control freak, trust me!

She is nice to Gopi at times only because I guess she got up from the right side of the bed in those episodes...

I agree. I initially liked Kokila's character the most (before I saw Aham 😆) but like honestly, jokes apart, Kokila has a really strongly written character and I like it. The woman is straight forward and tells it like it is, no pretenses, no hesitancy, no nothing.

And she's not evil, although the things she does might have some negative impact along the way, which just makes her character stand out from the rest.

But agreed with many of the other people, she needs to let go and let everyone else do what they want, regardless of whether or not they make mistakes or whatever. People learn, and her Aham Dikhra will too.

My thoughts

Koki want s to be dominant in the house. She wants everything to be in her control. After her marriage she must have realised that her husband has no say in house and being an egoistic person she must have started throwing her weight around. Baa, Hetal and Hubby belong to a different crowd to react to her. Jigar's dad is busy in business.

In one of the episodes they show Koki going to Jigar's dad for a file. He reacts as if his secretary is asking for a file. And the expression on Koki's face was worthwatching.

In Ahem she wanted all the qualities that are missing in her hubby and most importantly success in business, because that brings authority in the house. May be one of the reasons why she wanted a timid bahu & responsible babu who will not challenge her authority.

I feel Raasi also wants the same. She is now in the same situation that Koki was. But the character sketch of the two is slightly different.

I feel that the elder generation characters reflect in the younger generation.

Hetal - Gopi

madhu that perfectly described abt the characters of the show......esp Koki.....
and m just hoping she wont become negative and biggest hurdle in GoHam Love Story......once aham falls for Gopi...
