why was abhi so violent

If Abhi loved Piya so much he not only raped her but was too violent with her as u could see she had bruises all over her face and also he was so cruel hearted that he left her fully soaked in mud and went away.

That means before also when the masked man came to harass Piya when she was walking alone to home after work, it was Abhi?

I think abhi was the one following pia everywhere, he came in hr house and turned off lights also when no one was home and try to attack her.
