Let's see, Two girls turn on TV (indian channels) ...

Girl # 1: "Oh a reality show is on...but wait, it is just like the american reality shows, except with Indian people ... whether is deal or no deal, big boss, or Indian Idol, change please...."

*Click* ... change the channel ...

Girl #2: "Oh look Karam Apna Apna is on... "

Girl #1: "But wait, isn't this just like Kkusum with the kundali thing"

Girl #2: " no it is like Woh rehne wale mehlon mein, anyways, whatever it is like the story is it has a been there done that theme so...."

*Click* ... next channel ...

Girl #1: "Oh Kasam se is on... But Jai and Bani are having problems again!! Don't want to see sad and depressing things, TV is suppose to be entertaining, not stressful, put on a different show ... "

Girl #2: "maybe Saath phere, Oh no, same thing here, problems between main couple... "

Girl #1: "Mamta??"

Girl #2: "Nope same thing, problems problems problems..."

Girl #1: "Whose getting married? They are dressed so nicely?"

Girl #2: "Nobody, actually the little boy has been kidnapped, so the ladies have less make up on today!"

Girl #1: "Ok????"

*Click* next channel ..

Girl #1: "so what is going on on this show?."

Girl #2: "..see that is dadi ... but she looks younger than her grand-bahu, actually that is not her grand bahu it is her great grand bahu, and she is evil and out to kill her zillion year old dadi-in-law!!!! "

Girl # 1: "Oh Is it b/c Dadi bhi kahbi bahu thi???

Girl #2: "no it is b/c it is khani ghar ghar ki"

Girl #1: "... anyways I can't tell the dadi from the newborn baby, too confusing next please...."

*Click* next...

Girl #2: "ok this is the story of three sisters and one brother...

Girl #1: "Oh I think you mean Dulhan..."

Girl #2: "no no no!!! it is Betiyan... "

Girl #1: "are you sure it is not the new show Maayka .... "

Girl # 2: "umm let me think.... in dulhan the sisters are evil, in betiyan the brother is evil, in Maayka....argh, can't think"

*Click*

Girl #1: "Wow, now this I like, it is great!!!! So relaxing, peaceful, and nice to watch. I have never seen it before, it is sooo refreshing and cool.....What is it???"

Girl #2: "I shut the TV off!!!"

oh my god. excellent absoluteley hillarious. i see your posts in kaa, but i am glad you are posting now in sp. you know i sometimes feel bad for the creatives of soap opera, wait hear me out, because every possible formula related to family, relationships and business have been done before one time or another. what can they do, and being indian soaps, creatives have to watch not to cross the cultural tolerance line otherwise they have protests.

Thank you 😳, and yes you are right, creatives are limited in a way, due to our values and cultures, but there are still many concepts yet to be explored, other than the cindrella theme, saas-bahu, and surrogate mother, the thing is many shows start of with good concepts, like dark skinned girl, mental husband - uneducated girl, different between daughter and son, but they all end being the same, same, same!!! I mean why not stick with the concept make your point and end the show, with positive messages!!!! SP was like that, but not anymore 😔 ... also how bout some diff concept like for a change the hero is not stupendously rich ... but a regular guy who works hard for his living??? Or the main girl, goes out for a job, and not just as a hobby or out of majboori bit b/c she wants to have a career!!!! ....

have you ever the seen the english soap bold and the beautiful. now that soap has been running for some three decades. can you even guess how many times each character have been marreid, divorced, had affairs and illegetimate children. it is shocking and it is sick, when you see the step mom marrying her own step son. like now that is western soaps.

I have seen some of it, don't watch now tho, but u r right that show was ridiculous, but u know the thing is ... that here those shows come on during the day, when most people are at work, so they are mainly for ppl who stay home and kinda bored ... but on prime time they have better shows, like Gilmore girls, The OC, etc...as well sitcoms... you know, like a variety....😆 hehehe...

atleast we have to be thankful that despite all the marraies and illegitimate children ekta still hasnt completely lost her mind. lets hope ekta doesnt watch bold and the beautiful.

you know the odd thing is tulsi and mihir are the only couple on tv who have not had multiple marraiges. they are the ram and sita of indian tele industry. lets all hail the great couple. sure mihir had an affair, but was it really an affair, according to ekta it wasnt because mandira tricked him to sleeping with her and having karan as an son. yeah right ekta, so mihir technically did not have an affair as he was helping an mentally demented woman. tulsi has never had an affair, or been in love with any other man other than mihir.

cant say the same for the golden couple nahar-saloni. nahar was in love with chandini, saloni is love with neel. so those two are not perfect either. hey you might say what about parvati and om. i unfortunately dont watch kggk so cant analyze their relationship. but i think parvati and om are one step above even the great tulsi and mihir. did they have any affairs, does anybody know, but paro did remarry but that was after om death and it was for revenge. so paro not at fault.

ok i am rambling on. what i am trying to say tulsi and mihir rock and oh yeah in the bounds of tolerable indian values, all possible story lines have been exhausted. so i dont think the creatives have any choice but to go in circles.

not rambling at all, you made really good points!!!😃😃 And I agree (even tho, didn't watch KSBKT till like 2 weeks ago...😳so dont' know much abt it....as for SP, hope it really gets better
