"Oh ho…relax yaar. This would be more convenient rather than wasting gas from both cars…and…uh…polluting the atmosphere?" he grinned cheekily while she huffed and folded her arms, looking out the window.
"Are you captain planet or something?" she huffed, mumbling under her breath. He heard her loud and clear and couldn't help but grin. This was going to be fun, he knew.

Half an hour later, they pulled into the parking lot of the Blue Marine hotel. Nahar came out of the car and offered his hand for Saloni, who pushed it aside and got out on her own. Being two of the most well known business people in Mumbai, they were immediately surrounded by the general public who was curious to know what these enemies were doing here, together? Soon enough, even the annoying presses magically appeared and were firing questions, demanding to know if there was ever really any enmity between them.
Glaring at the media, Nahar rest his hand on Saloni's shoulder and pretty much steered her away from the crowd and into the lobby. She clawed at his hands till he released. Now she was the one glaring, pushing up her sunglasses and marching towards the coffee shop. Her mood matched the grey clouds outside. Nahar just shrugged and grinned and followed behind her.
As they got comfortable in a sofa-seat at the back, protected from curious gazes thanks to the large plants placed strategically around the place, Nahar asked, "Um, what time does your meeting start?" though he already knew the answer!
"Uh…" her face began burning… "Uh, well you see…there was no meeting…I was just trying to avoid you, and just my luck I ended up tying myself into this…this…whatever this is unknowingly"
"I see…So, anyways…this place is nice, I like it a lot. Very soothing" he said, closing his eyes and taking into the toasty scent of the many types of coffees and chai in the place.
"Hmm, it is. Do you come here often?" she was softening up. She figured there really was no harm in trying to lessen the rivalry between both companies, and hey, he was …Handsome!
"Uh, yeah" he blushed, and she couldn't help but notice how adorable he looked like that.
'Adorable?! AAH…ey ladki, aap ka dimaag kharab ho chukki hai kyaa?!" she chided herself mentally.
The waitress came and took their orders. They sat in silence, gazing everywhere, and stealing glances at each other.
Their drinks arrived.
"WOW! This is yummy! I haven't had chai this good since…since…hmmm" Saloni exclaimed. Nahar nodded and sipped his, looking thoughtful.
As he opened his mouth to respond, rain drops started falling. They could see through the large stained glass window bordering the shop.
"Rain?" he was surprised.
"It's raining? oh, pickles!! Monsoon season!!" she exclaimed.
"Monsoon?…sh*t! I forgot. Man, these rains get awful, I hope this doesn't create another one of those floodings…we'll be stuck here--" his voice was lost in the loud, ear splitting thunder-crack, followed by a flash of white lightening, forking through the steadily darkening sky.
Saloni yelped and grabbed his hand that was lying on the table, shutting her eyes tightly.
Instantly she realized what she did, and released. She was embarrassed and mumbled an apology, but he brushed it off. The rain started pouring furiously from the now black skies. Hard to believe it was only mid-day.
"Uh…Mr. Singh--"
"Please, call me Nahar."
"Uff, Nahar, can we please leave, this was nice and all, but, before this rain gets any worse, I think we should leave. My family will be terribly worried, as would yours."
"Uh, yeah, you're right." He got up and she followed suit. She walked out from her seat, pulling her jacket on, and made to quickly walk ahead, when another crack of thunder caused her to jump back, straight into something solid.
Nahar's arms went straight around her, pulling her close to him. After her initial shock, and another rounds of pretending her body did not react to having him that close. She looked up and pushed him away, marching out of the coffee shop and into the lobby of the hotel. That's where she got the even bigger shock. Loads of people were gathered around the television set, where a weather bulletin was up on floods already happening in nearby areas and that the rain was expected to continue until wee hours of the morning. The weather man was advising people to move to higher/ safer grounds and stay away from the water as much as possible.
"Haila!" she wanted to faint. They were trapped.
"Yeh kyaa ho raha hai?" Nahar asked, coming up behind her.
"We're stuck!" she looked just about ready to cry, and he felt guilty.
"Kyaa? Kaise?" he was worried now.
"Barish…flooding abhi toh shuru ho gayi. Ab kyaa karein?" Now the tears had formed, pooling under her eyelids. She shut her eyes tight so that they would not flow.
"Uh…ji…I'm really sorry that this had to happen. I, I didn't do it purposefully," he attempted to cheer her up. When she gave no sign of relaxing, he resorted to his recent "Captain Planet" jaap, "You know…it's all of that fuels going into the atmosphere that causes global warming and higher condensation levels, which causes more rain… that's why I said to use one car, it could've lessened, even by a little, the amount of pollution in the air!"
She opened her eyes, staring at him. She burst out laughing. Not because he was funny, but he was incredulous! How could he be making such lame jokes at this moment?
"Ah, there we go…"
"I'm not laughing because you're funny Captain Planet. I'm laughing because you're ridiculous. Full of bakwas!"
"Array, kyaa kaha aap ne? Captain Planet?! Oh, you hurt me right here," he scrunched up his face in a supposed to be pained look and put his hand in his blazer on top of his heart.
"Haha, funny" she replied dryly.
"Ok, ok, I'm sorry baba. Now what do we do? Let's see if we can hurry back" he said, and taking her hand, he pulled her through the crowds and out of the hotel, where rain began beating down on them, drenching them in seconds.
"Guess not…Um, Saloniji, mujhe lagta hai ke you should call your family and tell them where you are. Like you said, they'd be worried. Uh, I'll leave you to do that, I'm going to check for rooms, we'll need to get out of these soaking clothes!"
Nodding, she called up her brother and told him, and before he could ask anything about Nahar, she cut the call and switched her phone off.
She turned around and saw Nahar at the check in counter, and walked up to him, in time to hear the lady saying there was only one room available, that all the people who had just flocked in booked rooms for the night, and now there was just one left.
Saloni looked at him with wide eyes, clearly showing she did not intend to share a room with him. He turned to the lady, "We'll take it", took the keys from her hand and indicated to a fuming Saloni to follow. He was sure that all the steam blowing from her ears would dry her off faster than a towel would
