Synopsis

Director Ahmed Siddiqui has come out with an interesting cast and crew for his venture 'Jai Santoshi Maa', a remake of film made in seventies with the same title. The original film was a hit at that time. The director has attempted to convince the audience with all necessary indredients in the new version of the film. He succeeds in presenting a good mythological film.

Mahima (Nushrat Bharucha) is an ardent devotee of Santoshi Maa. Her husband Anuraag (Rakesh Bapat) is a musician by heart. Mahima's father is a music teacher and her mother a devotee of Maa. Since Anuraag and Mahima gets married against the will of Anuraag's family, only hardships come their way. Fed up with humiliation, Anuraag decides to try his luck elsewhere, but Mahima decides to stay back and serve her in-laws. And what does she get in return is jusy misery, pain and distress from each and every member of the family. With no support to lean on, Mahima starts worshipping Santoshi Maa and follows her 'solah shukrawar vrats' religiously. She withstands everything that comes her way with a smile on her face and faith in her heart. Finally Maa is pleased. The Goddess makes all her wishes come true and blesses her husband with all the success he ever wished for.

Performance:
Nushrat Bharucha has performed well. She has also shown a lot of conviction while expressing her belief in the Goddess. Rakesh Bapat is alright. The couple of Nushrat Bharucha and Rakesh Bapat looks fine. Lalit Tiwari and Sanjay Swaraj are impressive. The other supporting actors have performed their roles in a convinced manner. The music by Anu Malik is good. All songs are pleasant. Direction is good. Screenplay, story and other technical aspects are alright.
