I will throw in my two cents trying to find out how can we keep both sides happy.
First of all, us readers need to acknowledge that Updaters are doing a favor to us by investing their time and resources to provide us with information. It would be wrong of us to Insist on it and ask rudely or rather ask at all. Simple thing to understand is that if a person is willing to post the update he or she will or they wont.
At the same time, there is a expectation built into the readers and they are expecting to read the updates that are provided. They understand that it may come in late, one way to keep them going is to provide a time estimate if the update is going to be late (we understand that investing half hour or one hour may not be possible at the same time everyday). So if the updater knowing that will be late by more than an hour or two can send a simple message that "update will be posted late today" it is sufficient.
Thats just my opinion.
Thanks
