Sharad Kelkar, who is stressed out doing two dailies Sinndoor - Tere Naam Ka and Saat Phere, is opting out of the former. "Working for more than 17-18 hours a day throughout the month is taking its toll on my health. I have undergone medical tests and my doctor has advised me to take it easy," he informs. Consequently, he's bidding adieu to Sinndoor in which he plays Rudr. "Sinndoor has three main leads whereas in Saat Phere there are only two heroes. With Rakesh Bapat out of the serial for one-and-a-half months, the show will be in trouble if I too opt out," he reasons. Also, the fact that Saat Phere has his real wife Kirti Gaikwad playing his ex, albiet dead, is another bonus. "It was a big surprise to me when she came into the serial. Bin maange moti mil gaya," he laughs and hopes that her track increases even if it is just in flashbacks. In Sinndoor too she plays his wife Niharika, "but I hardly had scenes with her," he says. He has just finished wrapping up the last scene of Sinndoor which will show him meeting with a car accident. The scene was shot at Filmcity with Sharad doing the stunt himself. A rain sequence, he had to hang from a cliff and the car was to hit him. The director offered to bring a stunt man but the actor refused as he was used to doing stunts in his earlier serial CID. " But it was very scary. The mud had become slippery and Kirti was out of her mind with worry," recalls Sharad. The track was supposed to have him survive the accident but now the actor has asked the production house and the channel to relieve him from the show. "They will not kill me because they want to keep the option open but they will sideline my character in the show," says Sharad gratefully. The handsome actor is looking at anchoring a show or doing a weekly to compensate quitting Sinndoor .... "That way I can manage my time well and devote most of it to my lovely wife," he grins.
