Your saying , judy , applies perfectly with Tara , who goes on her knees in front of Jiji but acts tough with Saloni whose niceness she takes for granted . It also applies to kaveri who doesnt think twice before talking back to Ambika but is wary when talking to Mannobhabhi .
vidya , such kind of nonsense does happen in wealthy Indian homes . It even exists on a subtle level in metropolis cities like Banglore , Mumbai Delhi etc . All these serials r showing hometowns far away from cities , with wealthy estates but a rural culture . In this sense , SP is showing true issues . Indians who left India to find a better life in other countries escape these issues , but they still watch these serials , right ? These controversial issues make these serials interesting. I personally know a wealthy family in Mumbai that ignored four lovely daughters and hankered after a son . I always wondered why , as those brilliant girls were more than capable of handling the family business . But no one even considered them and spent the full life lamenting about the fact that inspite of having wealth , no son was born , how their household was cursed etc etc etc . What a tragic waste of life ! They even wished that one of the girls was fairer so that she cud land a better proposal . I have seen these discussions with my own eyes as they were my relatives . So u see , India being an industrial giant has nothing to do with these social problems . They have existed since ages and will continue to exist . US is bigger giant than India , but domestic violence issues , child abuse issues exist on such a large scale , that we see constant advertisement on Tv urging domestic abuse women , child abuse parents to seek helps from counselling , and social workers , not to keep it under wraps . Economic progress and social progress do not necessarily go hand in hand , this is sad but true fact of life . I am sure Trinidad must be having social issues too , only , they must be of another nature .
