| Rajshri Thakur reacts to the allegations that she chickened out of a dance reality show
Rajshri Thakur is in the news again — and for all the wrong reasons. Her bowing out of the reality show Ek Se Badhkar Ek raised a few eyebrows. What made her do that?
"Well, I had a terrible ligament problem. Actually, it was showing up even before I agreed to do the show but since I love dancing I overlooked the fact. But with the amount of strenuous dance movements, the problem just aggravated and it came to a point where I couldn't bear the pain anymore. So I decided to get out of the show instead of suffering."
But insiders snigger that she was on her way out and by bowing out voluntarily she was simply saving her face.
"That's not true at all," she reacts to it, adding, "The judges had good words to say about my work. Also, I do understand that it's a competition where one wins and one loses. Besides that, I was enjoying myself; there was no question of chickening out."
While bowing out, she had commented that the doctor had advised her complete bed rest. If so, how does she plan on going ahead with the shooting of Saat Phere?
"Well, I have been advised against any kind of dance or movements that would pressure on my knees. But shooting for Saat Phere is not stressful at all. It's not as if I am supposed to be bed-ridden. In fact, for an actor doing a daily soap there's simply no respite from shooting. A few months back, when I was down with dengue, I was back on the sets within 10 days."
One also heard that she was suffering from Arthritis. "Now that's one story which has come from nowhere. I wonder how my ligament problem got transformed into Arthirities," she laughs.
Rajshri is proud to be the lead of Saat Phere which recently completed 700 episodes.
She says, "It's a happy feeling to be associated with a hit show. I am lucky to have played Saloni. Not for a moment have I experienced boredom because there have been several shades to my character — playing negative, autistic, a banjaran and now a mother with an adopted baby. I sure hope the journey continues for a long time to come."
The professional high apart, the actor is also leading a content family life, "I'm lucky to have a supportive husband and in-laws who understand the erratic schedules of my work. I am a completely family person who likes to balance her work and home. While I am not working, I like to cook and keep house. Sanjyot is a huge help," she ends. |
