Here's one alternate track I can think of considering Aishwarya's inability to stay in Mumbai and shoot for the show.

Toasty's mom or dad (say mom) gets diagnosed with rare disease which can only be cured in the US by one particular physician who has successfully handled similar cases earlier (kind of how Yuvraj went to US for his cancer treatment).

Since, it is crucial year at studies for Dimple so she can't go along and entire C-parivar comes together to convince Toasty to go with her parents to the US. Now from US, Toasty keeps calling home, giving updates on progress of her mom's health, talks to everyone and participate from distance (via phone) in day to day activities of C-house.

Meanwhile Dimple stays with C-family in C-house. Best opportunity for Prachin-Dimple love story to develop as Dimple misses her family and is worried about her mom while living in the same house as Prachin. They both go to college together...etc etc.

An extra focus on Nitika-Ved love story and also a chance to show Nitika-parents' bonding again.

Some Malti-Pashu scenes and also Malti-Dadaji scenes.

Dadaji getting his legs fixed. Tej and Malti helps with that.

Gyan graduating from high school with great results and his dilemma of choosing a Major for higher studies.

Prachin and Dimple graduating too. Prachin getting a scholarship to a well-renowned college for plant research (horticulture).

Pitaji enjoying life and being happy seeing growth of business and both shops doing well.

Finally, Malti in labor pain, no one in the house (just like today) and Toasty enters the house just in time, calls in the doctor, doctor comes to home and together with Toasty and Tej, helps in home delivery of a beautiful child. A scene where Tej and Toasty are holding the new born and talking about having their own very soon.

Last scene of SBS, new baby in palna (bassinet), house decorated with flowers, everyone in beautiful clothes (including Toasty's healthy parents), sharing sweets and singing songs...The Happy End :)

ooo Nitika gets pregnant and that can be the reason of her parents melting down..

I mean this was such a light hearted show.. and in the end they are showing the worst possible track that everyone's fav toasty is no more. they have killed it.

it bothers me because even though i understand it was toasty's sasural that this show revolved around but still you have so many characters and so many opportunities for stories...

I agree with you even though it was Toasty focused show, but other characters were more or less equally significant and loved by all. Knowing that Aishwarya is ill, fans would have easily accepted her absence (without her need to die!) and enjoyed some light-hearted tracks involving other family members.
I am sure Nitika's pregnancy news can't keep her parents mad for too long :)

Sadly along with passion, effort and intelligence are also required to succeed and Prachin has none of them!!

Note to be forgotten Prachin is a screen character who I dislike (not hate, it is a very strong word) and not the actual actor - the actor indeed has done a nice job to portray such a dumb character.

Thanks. I agree actor playing Prachin has lots of potential and will do very good in life as far as his acting career goes. Even though in the beginning I sometimes disliked the character especially when he was mean to newly wed Toasty but soon he started to show more sense and sincerity towards all. I have seen many boys in our close family friend circle who were similar to Prachin during college days, carefree/careless attitude just focused on enjoying life but eventually understood their responsibilities and are now a good husband, son and father.
