Toasty has done a lot for Malti and the household, but she has and has done a lot of things that were "mistakes" for the C house and Pashu is right, that there were a lot of exceptions made for Toasty. Malti never got that chance. Malti has and will always be compared to Toasty and that is wrong. Malti has been thankful enough to toasty, apologised enough to Ved and others and still people want to keep her past into her present, then it shows the narrow mindedness of them. Ved used to be this very spiritual person that always forgave and saw things larger than life, almost Godly, isnt one of the first things religion preaches, is forgive and forget? Doesnt our religion say, that repenting is the first sign that a person has accepted their fault and that is a bigger punishment than anything else? Yes Malti s offense to Ved is huge, but she has suffered equally or worse for it.
You cant expect Malti to be subservient and constantly thankful to Toasty her entire life. Pashu's defense of Malti is bang on right and so is Tej's. Thats what they should. But Tej to me is off base here. He is supposed to understand his brother and where he is coming from. Everyday, from cooking to cleaning to everything, Malti IS compared to Toasty, irrespective of her presence in the house. Prachin's larger than life attitude, Ved's arrogance and Pitaji's constipated look of dis-satisfaction is a constant reminder to Pashu that how much ever Malti tries, she can never make them happy, because these people feel entitled to a certain thing and would not budge from it. Just because some one is remaining silent and taking it all does not mean, everyone should step all over them. Toasty was kicked out only bcoz the C family didnt know what to believe and what not to. The constant comparison of Vimala to Toasty, did drive a wedge. And now its Malti and Toasty! Dont they see, how they are dividing their own house???
