Come on, people. I agree that Tej hasn't supported her in couple of special situations, but he has also displayed his love in various ways - by going against the entire family to stand by her decision to continue teaching at the school, by selling his watch to buy a gift for HER friend, by requesting his dad to give Toasty some allowance money so she could take care of her own needs, by gifting her saris, by whispering "I LOVE YOU" . Without his affection, no way could Toasty have turned the 7-men house into her home, not even if she were a saint!!!!!!!!
I believe that it is very important for a spouse to openly confess his love for his wife, to let her know that he respects her. At the very least, be considerate towards her. Pashu GIVES NOTHING, but expects Malti's obedience and subservience forever!
Instead of insulting her at the dining table, why not encourage her efforts to do something for the family? Perhaps her food is not as delicious as Toasty's, but how can spouse snub his wife so openly and SERIOUSLY? Why can;t he just drink the tea she made for him, then take her aside and explain that while he appreciates her gesture, it is also rude to brew a cup of 'special' tea just for him. Such little steps would resonate much better with Malti...right now, I don't blame her for those evil thoughts against Toasty! Pashu is the catalyst for all that negativity!
