Bhaskar, tumhaara msg. Seema ko de diya hain. She will be making an appearance today.
Adi, I said I would post some of the confusing/maddening/funny experiences of the contest. OK. Here goes. Most confusing was during the 3rd/4th round when I sang 'Lamha Lamha. I was 4th when I expected a much higher ranking. Most scary, actually it would have to be a tie. And I have mentioned this before. My voice had gone so bad for a 5-week period, I thought I was going to be out of the contest just by not being able to post any song. However, as luck would have it, for the LP round, I had a kaccha recording of 'Yeh jo chilman hain' which I was able to submit even though it was not my first choice. The next round was the judges' choice when I had to sing 'O Duniya ke rakhvaale'. That's when I thought I was surely going to be out because I could hardly even talk, let alone sing. However, because of some reason or the other, the submission date kept getting postponed. In fact, I think this was the longest gap between rounds, something like 5 weeks. My voice had almost recovered by then and I was able to submit the song. Finally, another incident was during the private album round. I had completely missed the fact that we were required to submit two songs. I noticed it a day before. I scrambled at the last minute and submitted two ghazals for Barnali ji's review. She initially said that ghazals would not be allowed for the private album round. I said that in that case, it was the end of the contest for me since I did not have anything else as backup. She checked with the coordination committee. Fortunately for me, the coordinators agreed that ghazals were allowable so my Talat Aziz song was accepted.
Lagta hain I am well past the 250 word limit. Brevity was never my forte. Let me stop before all of you doze off, if you have not already ๐

Bhaskar, fikar not. Your message will be delivered to Seema this evening. Adi, I will definitely post some of the funny/crazy experiences but in the evening, after I get home from work. I have to force myself now to get away from the board. Varna aisa na ho ke I am thrown out of my software engineering ka pesha and I have to sing at wedding receptions for rozi roti ๐
