The second time Aneek caught people's attention was when Salman Khan was the guest judge.

Flushed with the victory Aneek Dhar, the winner of Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007, had slept only for five hours since he won the sangeet ka pratham vishwayuddh. At 18 years he is aware that this is not the end, but only the beginning of a long journey ahead.

Interestingly, right from his entry in the contest, Aneek was surrounded by controversies. It's unfortunate. I entered in Episode 19 directly after winning Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla and Himesh sir and Ismail sir had objected, 'tum chalti gaadi mein nahin chadh sakte ho' they had said. This really hurt me and I prayed that I get just one chance to prove myself and impress the mentors. I'm really lucky that I got their approval.

The second time Aneek caught people's attention was when Salman Khan was the guest judge and he went on the stage and took off his shirt and asked him to sing his song. The ultimate was when Dia Mirza was invited as a guest judge and she praised Aneek. That's when I blurted out 'Diaji I love you very much' and Dia said 'I love you too, but only for your singing!' This was the best compliment anyone could have given me.

Aneek was one contestant who had very little time to prepare, turn the tide in his favour and win the
mentors. It means a lot to me that I could sing in front of veterans and get their blessings.

Talk veers towards his mentor Himesh Reshammiya and his chubby face lightens up. He would love to follow in the foot-steps of his 'inspiration'. Aneek says, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is over but I would love to consolidate my relationship with Himeshji, he inspires and encourages me so much." So what guru dakshina does he plan to give to his guru Himesh?

I've already given him guru dakshina by winning, because in the last season Vineet couldn't win the contest so he was very disappointed.
Aneek has already recorded a song for Bappi Lahiri's Love.com.

Wrong, Aneek. If you wash your guru's feet every day with milk till the day you die - even then you wouldn't be able to repay him for what he's done for you. You haven't given him guru-dakshina by winning, he's given you a guru-daan by making you the winner. I dislike Himesh and all, but show some gratitude, dude!

Gratitude does not come by washing feet morning and evening. What he said is true.Thats the gift he could ahve given his guru now, for that matter anyone could ahev given their guru. The best gift would be the day he is receiving his first anual award as the best playback singer and still acting with humility and down to earth qualities,the innocence,the simplicity and liveliness that he possesses now.

Ur 100% right about Aneek neva been able 2 repay Himesh ji 4 wat he's done 4 him.... 😉 ....n also i dnt think Himesh would ever ask 4 guru dakshina 4m Aneek.....he jus dnt seem the type 2 me.... 😳 thanx 4 replying.... 😉

It's not about the gift, Adi, it's about the attitude. Aneek's attitude implies he's done a favor on his guru by winning, something that Vinit never could do. When in fact, his 'favor' doesn't come close to the favors that Himesh has done for him throughout the show.

Amanat didn't win anything, but he still gave his guru the only thing he won - a watch. Aneek won 50 lakhs, a car, a watch - and what does he say to his guru: 'Just be happy i made you winning mentor'.

Lets face it, that was the best gift He could have given his guru.Himesh has already lost one series,and in this series a win could have been his best gift.It was a very intelligent reply coming from a 18 year old boy.

And if attitude was a factor, the only Raja is the real winner for the way he conducted hilmself post defeat...none otehrs- not Aneek not amanat, not HR not ID could match that up.
