First of all, we all know that Aneek would not be the winner if he did not have the support of his fans all over the world. I know, voters from Kolkata and India played a major role in Aneek's win, but we cannot ignore the fact that Aneek got 1.28 crores of international votes, whereas Raja got 1.18 crore votes. And, Aneek defeated Raja by 13 lakh votes. This shows that Aneek was ahead of Raja only by 3 lakh votes based on Indian voting, whereas Aneek was ahead of Raja by 10 lakh international votes.
Being from the US, I also voted for Aneek and this is the first time ever that I have voted for any contestant on a reality show. There will be quite a few examples of voters like me who voted for the first time and voted for Aneek.
That is why, Aneek is a true winner, because he won the hearts of millions of people all over the world.
You forget Amanat was number one in international votes. He should have won but for tribalism. My tribe should come above talent or merit. Bengal voted for the member of their tribe they didn't care about talent or merit if that is not the case we wouldn't see all Bengal voting for their candidate and free voting boothes. This is an example of corruption, neoptism and tribalism part and parcel of India in all walks of life. Aneek is not a true winner in singing competition but winner in the war among various tribes.
By same token a Punjabi can never ever win because Punjab doesn't have the population to compete with Bengal or Rajasthan. Only singers from states with resources and large population will win in each and every time.
