There's been a lot of debate over who deserves to win this contest. Frankly, I feel all three finalists are deserving, or else they wouldn't be in the finals. They've all proven themselves, and have all been declared winners at some point or another.
The question then, is not who deserves to win, but who needs to win. For that we need to consider what's at stake. We already know that regardless of who wins, all of them have already been noticed and gotten offers for playback singing. Winning or losing won't hurt their prospects. Yes, if anything's at stake, it's the prize money - 50 lakhs.
So who needs the money the most? Most of us would agree that Raja does. His family financial condition, from what we've seen on TV, is less stable than that of Aneek's and Amanat's. Add to that the fact that he's older than both of them, and has a greater responsibility on his shoulders to sustain himself and his family - the others are still young and can depend on their parents for their roti. Most significantly, Aneek and Amanat have already won contests earlier and have received prize money too. It's Raja's turn now - and he's struggled a lot for it.
It's a shame that in a contest where every singer has worked equally hard, only one walks away with all the prize money, and the loser gets nothing. But if I had to pick one, then Raja should be given the prize.
