WoW! How she sang and that too when she knew this could be her last performance. Pandit Jasraj was mesmerised the moment she started. And even told her that she was born for classical music and not hindi filmi music .

The song is from the film "Swarna Sundari", released around 1957/58.

It actually consists of four separate stanzas, each
in a different raaga, i.e. Sohni, Bahaar, Jaunpuri and Yaman, representing the different seasons. Poonam sang only two out of the four stanzas. But she did sing it
very well indeed.

Personally, I didnt like the song, she sang it soooooooooooooooooo GOOD. I watch it on youtube to see how comfortably she sang it. She was soo stress-free. Thats called serious talent 👏

spectacular singing!! superlative se bhi kahin oopar!! 👏

to me, this was undoubtedly the best performance of this season, surpassing everything and everyone i've heard on the show so far. a genius composition showcasing the genius of this young, talented girl! i loved it how Jasraj ji was so mantramugdh while she was singing.. and also when he told her that she is born to sing classical... 😊😊😊

apparently, when lataji heard the original in telugu, she was so impressed by it that she requested the genius composer adinarayana rao to remake it in hindi so she could sing it.. and the rest, as they say is history... 😊
