I'm sure Hema could do Mitwa if he tried, but I don't feel that's his strong point - the sufiana style n all. The only backdraw he has is his accent, which is quite obvious. It doesn't make him a lesser singer, but it does make him disadvantaged when it comes to Bollywood.

I'm sure Hema will get a few opportunities in Bollywood, but what I meant to say was, he cannot break into the mainstream. As far as singing for top actors once in a while, sure why not? In a country where SPB can sing for Salman and Himesh can sing for Akshay Kumar, anything is fair game. But it's the exception rather than the norm.

Mitwa is not sufiana style 😃. It's a cakewalk of a song for Hema because it is semi-classical. Somehow I am not convinced about this accent thing at all - it takes a little practice to overcome the accent problem. Shankar Mahadevan who sang the original Mitwa is a South Indian too. Anyway, I won't argue more about this.

Overall, I liked your post about the comparisons. Tells something about girl contestants facing an invisible barrier at #4 position, about the #2 contestant being in the mould of Sonu Nigam and so on. Let's see if future contests follow this trend.

Frankly Amanat is the best singer any contest can have. He difinitely is head and shoulders above the rest and will do very well. 😆 😆 😆

Hi Shady,

Loved your comparisions! Although I still miss nihira, Challenge 07 is definitely better than 05.

Amanat is way better than Hema, he's got a better voice quality, sings with more feel, and is more versatile. MY OPINION 😊

The lead singer is definitely Shankar Mahadevan. Check it out.
